🚨 ER vs. Regular Vet: When to Go Where

Not sure if it’s an emergency? You’re not alone—we get this question every day. 🐾
Here’s a quick guide:

👉 Call your regular vet for:�• Mild vomiting/diarrhea�• Routine concerns�• Ongoing issues that aren’t worsening

🚨 Head to the ER immediately for:�• Difficulty breathing�• Collapse or extreme weakness�• Repeated vomiting or inability to keep water down�• Known or suspected toxin ingestion�• Straining to urinate (especially male cats!)

When in doubt, it’s always okay to call—we’re here to help guide you.

Looks like it's going to be a bad tick year despite the cold winter. Make sure to use reputable Flea/Tick Prevention for your dogs and cats.

The Companion Animal Parasite Council's 2026 Pet Parasite Forecast predicts continued geographic expansion of Lyme disease, ehrlichiosis, anaplasmosis, and heartworm risk nationwide—including in areas once considered low or moderate risk.

At Pet Well Mobile Vet, we feel that it's important to shows up every day and care for your pets with compassion, patience, and dedication. In order to do this, we need to feel safe interacting with you.

Every time you request an appointment with us, you are asked to read and electronically sign this Consent Form, which not only lists the 3 things required before an appointment will be confirmed, but also Vaccination Policy and Zero-Tolerance Policy. We take this seriously and we hope you do too.

Twice this week, I have been threatened by a client and potential client. In both cases, they didn't follow instructions, then got upset. This behavior is not acceptable.

We have a Zero-Tolerance Policy for any kind of abusive behavior that makes our team feel threatened. Our team deserves to feel safe and supported while caring for your pets. It's a shame I have to say this at all.

National Take Back Day is this Saturday. Clean out your cupboards of old, expired and unused medications and bring to Police Stations.

National Take Back Day is April 25. Unused or expired medications in the home are a common source of accidental exposure for pets and can also contribute to misuse and environmental harm.

Encourage your clients to safely dispose of medications at a local drop off site from 10 AM to 2 PM. Link in comments to find a location near you.
