🐾 There’s a familiar moment every breeder experiences… that little ping on your phone a few days after a puppy goes to their new home.

The note usually starts sweet:

“We love him/her, but…”

And you can already guess what follows — barking, nipping, crying at night, lots of energy… all the things that are completely normal for a young pup who’s just been separated from their litter, learning a brand-new world.

Puppies aren’t “problems.”
They’re babies figuring things out.

They’re adjusting, overstimulated, excited, unsure — sometimes all at the same time. And that’s how puppyhood works.

But sometimes people expect the version they see online — calm, quiet, perfectly trained, never chewing, magically knowing commands at eight weeks. They forget that every well-behaved adult dog started as a busy little learner… with someone who put in the time, the patience, the guidance, and the consistency.

So when someone says, “He’s adorable, but I’m not sure we’re the right fit,”
what they often mean is: “I didn’t expect the learning curve.”

Even the best-raised puppies don’t come knowing everything. They come ready to grow with you — to learn your home, your routines, your energy. They don’t need perfection… they need patience.

Some people think an “easy” puppy equals a “good” puppy, but truly, every puppy is good — they’re just new.
And new things can feel chaotic before they turn into something amazing.

Breeders see the whole journey. We care for the pups who come back confused or unsure, and we remind them gently: “You didn’t do anything wrong.”

Because it’s rarely the puppy — it’s simply that someone wasn’t prepared for the early stages.

Raising a pup takes time. It’s late nights, little accidents, sharp baby teeth, and the beginning of the sweetest bond you’ll ever build.

A puppy isn’t something to “test out.”
It’s a commitment. A tiny heart that depends on you.

If you’re not ready for the busy parts of puppyhood, that’s okay — just wait until you can give them your full patience and love.

These little souls deserve nothing less 💜🐾
