If an animal is picked up by the Animal Control Officer or the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office and impounded at Gratitude Farms location at 22359 Bataan St., East Bethel, MN 55011, the owner has five (5) business days to claim the animal. In this instance and as Gratitude Farms is available on a daily basis, business days and calendar days are one and the same. If the animal is unclaimed after this time, the animal becomes the property of the Animal Control Officer and will be donated to a recognized animal rescue organization or adopted directly by the Contractor to any private party at their discretion. No animals impounded as part of this Contract may be euthanized, except in the case where the animal’s welfare and quality of life are adversely affected and at the written advice of a veterinarian licensed in the State of Minnesota.
The following is the 2019 Fee Schedule for Animal Control Services for all but Cambridge, Isanti and North Branch
Animal Owner Charges if Animal is claimed:
$50.00 one-time administrative handling fee per animal
$25.00 daily board fee, statutory veterinary services at cost
Call out and Patrol service fee:
$60.00/hr. for call out or patrol services between the hours of 8 am. – 6 pm.
$80.00/hr. for call out or patrol services between the hours of 6 pm. - 8 am.
(Call out and patrol services shall be billed in quarter hour increments.)
Contractor Consulting Services:
$75.00/hr.

Prior to the release of any impounded dog, the Animal Control Officer will require that the owner provide a valid City animal license (if applicable), owner’s driver's license and/or a state issued identification card and a copy of the current rabies vaccination certificate for the dog. This information and payment of fees is required for the release of the animal.
Currently, all payments are required to be in cash or any suitable arrangement between the Animal Control Officer and the animal owner.
