Stopped by earlier to visit Brooks. We went out for a stroll, visited the horse then headed back inside when done. He did not have to go up and gets to spend the day free roaming, but he says his kennel is his safe place.

We love our little clients. See you at lunch Brooks.

Mom's went away for the weekend and were really nervous because Mito is unpredictable for such a little dude...
Has a spicy attitude and thinks he has to fight air.
Moms were honest really worried. After meeting him day 1 I knew we would be alright.

We had to have a few talks, but he understood i was not the enemy and we were bestie before the weekend was over. 🐾🫶

Patience, knowledge and knowing how to truly handle temperments.... is the key. 🗝

De-shed or shave double coated/multi coats?
Whats your groomers advice?
If your dog is double/multi coated and your theory is "let me shave the fur it will stop shedding" you are 100% incorrect and a professional groomer should always educate you in why.

Their fur has a job to protect them and their skin.
Multicoats help protect from bugs, inclement weather & helps regulate body temperatures. It shields their skin over all because it is more sensitive.
When you shave them down you are only shaving the top fur and not brushing out/blowing out the loose undercoat that is needed to be removed.
In result, the fur will keep shedding only shorter and so much more finer/prickly and itchy.

TEXAS HEAT- their coat surprisingly shields their skin and when you shave them down vs a professional de-shed routine, you are exposing their skin to the sun and higher chances of burning/overheating rises.
The now helping them theory, is completely opposite.
Also- technically yes fur grows back, but it will never grow the same and most grows back more cotton like texture and mats significantly faster.

Dogs with multiple coats should always professionally be advised to be placed on a de-shed grooming routine with proper products and equipment.

*Prebrush
*Deshedding shampoos and conditioners
*High velocity Blow out
*brush and comb out
Repeat as needed.

Alot of groomers will just do as the client requests.
We do as well, but we always educate and i am proud of how many clients are so appreciative.

Lilly & Daisy were a bit confused when a new person started coming to let them out and take them for walks.
Quickly they adjusted and have been amazing.

We are so happy we have been able to tag team with the family for the animals best care!

Their mom and dad had a baby human! Life's changing big this week. 👶 🚼
