Chill out this summer with a frozen treat for dogs!

Peanut Butter Paws

Ingredients:

1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce

1 cup plain, nonfat yogurt( use goat’s milk yogurt for dairy-free alternative)

1 cup natural peanut butter

1 mashed banana

1. Blend everything together

2. Pour liquid into a paw print baking mold

May is here! Warm weather means “cool” treats for your fur baby!

Dog Waffles

Ingredients: 2 tbsp vegetable oil, 1 tsp shortening, 4 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup cornmeal, 1 egg, 1 3/4 cups water

Add-ins (optional): cinnamon- 1/4 tsp. Pumpkin purée- 2 tbsp- 1/2 cup

Unsweetened applesauce- 1/2 cup. Natural peanut butter- 1/4 cup

Sweet potato- 1/2 cup

Equipment: cookie sheet, large mixing bowl, rolling pin, butter knife, waffle iron( if you have one), plastic storage bags

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease cookie sheet with the shortening or cover sheet with parchment paper.

2. Measure remaining ingredients into a large mixing bowl. Use hands or a mixing spoon to mix the dough throughly.

3. Use rolling pin to roll out dough until it is 1/4 inch thick. Use knife to cut squares of dough to fit waffle iron( if using one).

4. Press dough scraps into a ball and repeat step 3 until all dough has been used.

5. Place each square of dough on a cold (unplugged) waffle iron and press(if you don’t have waffle iron, skip this step).

6. Place “waffles” on a cookie sheet. Bake them for 45 minutes.

7. Let waffles cool. Break them into quarters.

8. Store waffles in plastic storage bags to keep them fresh.

Makes: 12 treats

April Showers bring May Flowers 🌾

Spring Bunnies dog treat recipe

Ingredients:

1/2 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie mix)

1 egg

1/2 cup natural peanut butter

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 180C (355F)

1. Add parchment paper to a large baking tray.

2. In a mixing bowl, add the pumpkin puree, egg and peanut butter and mix.

3. Stir in the flour and cinnamon until a dough is formed.

4. Sprinkle flour onto a clean surface and roll the dough until it is 1/4 inch thick.

5. Using a rabbit cookie cutter or template, cut out the dog treats.

6. Place the biscuits onto the baking tray and bake for 20 minutes until golden brown.

Autumn was a wonderful woman. She let me sell my dog treats at Dogs Of Greenville before I started Ruff Business and I will always be grateful to her for that. Autumn will be dearly missed by many.

Here is a St. Patrick’s Day dog treat recipe

Ingredients:

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

6 oz (3/4 cup) green bean baby food

3-5 fresh mint leaves (or a few drops of mint extract)

1. Add 1/2 cup of flour to a medium mixing bowl.

2. Add pureed green beans to flour and mix.

3. If using mint leaves, chop and add to mixture.

4. Spoon out dough balls on a baking sheet.

5. Place tray in the oven for 10-12 min at 350 degrees.

6. Let treats cool for about 5-10 minutes.

Here is a game-winning dog treat recipe for the Super Bowl!

Football Dog Treats

1. Mash 1 medium ripe banana in a bowl until smooth and there are minimal chunks.

2. Add 1/4 cup melted coconut oil and whisk together.

3. Add 1 1/4 cups flour of choice and 1/4 cup carob powder (optional). Mix everything together.

4. Form dough into a ball and roll out to about 1/4 inch thick, then use a football cookie cutter to make shapes.

5. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min or until edges are hard.
