Happy Spooky Season! *The Kennel Club

Have your furry friend do a trick and give them a Halloween Pupcake as a treat!🧁

Happy Halloween Pupcakes

Ingredients:

1 jar of banana baby food or 2 ripe bananas

2 tbsp natural peanut butter

2 eggs

3 3/4 tbsp honey

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

4 tbsp olive oil

1/2 cup water

Preheat oven to 355 degrees F

1. Add all of the cupcake papers onto a cupcake pan or a large baking tray

2. If mashing bananas by hand, use a fork and mash bananas in a bowl until smooth

3. Add peanut butter, honey, and eggs and mix throughly

4. Add flour, baking powder, olive oil, and water and mix until a batter forms

5. Add batter to cupcake papers (spoon in until the papers are nearly full)

6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until a knife comes out clean from the center of one of the cakes

Optional: while cupcakes are cooling, put a dog treat on top of each cake

Makes: 24 big pupcakes/ 48 mini pupcakes

Summer is coming to an end and fall is on the way! 🍁

Apple-shaped Dog Treats. *be.chewy.com

Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup water, 2 tbsp. Natural peanut butter, 1 tbsp. Finely grated apple, 2 tbsp. Beet juice, and 1 pinch of cinnamon

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Mix 3/4 cup of flour, water, peanut butter, and cinnamon together in a large bowl.

3. Mix beet juice and apples in with the batter in the bowl until mixture thickens and turns pink.

4. Once the mixture becomes too thick to mix, massage the mixture in hands until a consistent dough forms.

5. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of flour onto workstation.

6. With wet hands, break off into six pieces.

7. Form each piece into a ball and flatten with wet hands/a wet rolling pin onto workstation.

8. Optional: use an apple-shaped cookie cutter to create shapes from the dough.

9. Put treats on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and place in the oven for 10 minutes.

10. Remove from oven and let cool.

Makes 6 treats

Remember having a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch at school? This dog treat takes a tale-spin on the simple lunch!🥪

PB& J Buddy Bars.
From Paws and Brunch: canine cookbook

Bars ingredients:

1 cup gluten free oats

1 cup plain puffed rice

1/2 cup almond butter or natural peanut butter

2 tbs honey or agave syrup

Topping ingredients

1/2 cup goat or Greek yogurt

1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries

1 tbs melted coconut oil

1. In a large bowl, combine all bar ingredients.

2. Press mixture into 9 x 7 dish using parchment paper.

3. Use a blender to combine all topping ingredients.

4. Spread evenly on top of bars.

5. Freeze for 1 hour.

6. Cut into squares and serve to furry friend.

Makes 9 bars

Here’s a paw cloth to clean off your dog’s paw pads 🦮🐾

Paw Cloth. *American Girl

1. Decorate a washcloth with paw prints done in puff fabric paint.

2. Let dry.

3. Fold a corner of the washcloth and cut a small slit with scissors.

4. String a piece of ribbon through the slit and tie a knot for hanging.

Let your fur baby beat the heat with a puppuccino!🐶🔆

Fluffy Coconut Puppuccino. * UK PETS.com

Ingredients:

1/8 tsp lemon juice

1 can of coconut milk

1 egg white

2 tbsp old- fashioned oats

1. Pour can of coconut milk into a large bowl. Use a whisk to stir throughly.

2. Fold the oats into the whipped coconut milk.

3. Fill a small cup with the mixture.

4. In a separate bowl, crack the egg white and add the lemon juice. Whip for at least 3-5 min until stiff foamy peaks form.

5. Carefully spoon foam on top of puppuccino.

Chill out this summer with a frozen treat for dogs!

Peanut Butter Paws

Ingredients:

1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce

1 cup plain, nonfat yogurt( use goat’s milk yogurt for dairy-free alternative)

1 cup natural peanut butter

1 mashed banana

1. Blend everything together

2. Pour liquid into a paw print baking mold

3. Freeze overnight
