Instructing - Coaching Conditioning & Control of your dog. Hello my name is Carmila Peters. I was born and raised in San Jose, CA and I am Filipina-American. I was raised with animals my entire life. As far back as I could remember our family always had dogs. I would say I am an avid animal lover but enjoy the company of canines most. My first job was as a kennel technician at a Vet Hospital in Sa
n Jose, CA. It was a fun and rewarding experience to say the least! I am happily married to my husband of 13 years and we have 3 wonderful children and currently 4 lovely dogs. Growing up I remember going to the tennis courts with my dad and siblings. Once they were finished playing a match, oftentimes we would find stray dog(s) and would always check to see if they were friendly and if so we would try to find a dog tag or take them home to be safe from the streets or until we could get them to the Humane Society. Fast forward to today, the love and enjoyment I have for dogs has encouraged me to help others. I believe in dedicating time with your dog(s), the same way you would with your child. Grooming your dog(s) regularly helps ventilate their coat, helping it grow healthy and strong and takes away old and damaged hair. As I have several years of experience grooming dogs, I am currently working on my AKC S.A.F.E. Handling course certification. Meanwhile working your dog is the same as your kids participating in extracurricular activities and keeps them active throughout their livelihood. I look forward to coaching/conditioning handlers with their dogs and having firm control. Though I am not a certified trainer, I do hold a few certificates and have years of hands-on experience to help coach families in controlling and enjoying their dogs in different scenarios. I am accepting dogs for short term boarding or offering pet sitting in specific locations in Utah County. Growing up and studying the many breeds, I can also assist people or families with finding the right breed. Helping new dog owners learn about the pros and cons of owning a dog and the long term commitment is something I’m passionate about. Many people don’t even want a specific breed and would just love to adopt a mixed breed, but learning what the mix is will be significantly helpful to understand the dog's demeanor. Also with these trying times, many people looked to buying/adopting/rescuing dogs for companionship as our country as a whole was on a brief lockdown due to a pandemic. Unfortunately today we are seeing pets (dogs & cats) on certain social media sites and local classified ads for adoption, now because most families are back to “normal” daily routine schedules or back to work/school. As most people say they consider dogs family, my heart aches to see all these dogs looking for a new home or at a pound waiting to be adopted. So with that being said, before saying “you’re too busy” or “too much going on” let’s focus on what we could do to change or set a goal or routine to not give your four legged loved one up for adoption. Or if relocation is part of the issue, what we could do to find a place to keep your dog in your family circle.
