Heads up! You may see these green, brown, or black pod-like balls on the ground in your neighborhood at this time of the year. They are nuts from black walnut trees. The picture shows black walnuts in various sizes and stages of maturity and decay. Every part of a black walnut tree (nuts, shells, leaves, and wood) is highly toxic to dogs. The initial symptoms of black walnut poisoning include vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and loss of appetite, followed by tremors, seizures, and jaundice. The toxins in black walnut trees can be fatal to dogs if not treated promptly. Do not attempt to use any home remedies if your dog has ingested black walnut. Time is of the essence--get your dog to a vet immediately. (More info in the comments.)

Adopt some babies!

🚨 Our Kennels Are Full And Our Hearts Are Heavy. 💔

Right now, our kennels are completely full. Every kennel, every crate, every corner we can safely use are occupied by a soul who needs help.
And still, the calls don’t stop.
The emails don’t stop.
The “urgent” messages come in one after another, asking if we can take their pet.

We want to say yes. We always want to say yes.
But space is gone.

If you’ve ever thought about fostering, now is the time. If you’ve been meaning to adopt – please come meet your future best friend. If nothing else, please share this post. You never know who might see it and step up.

We had the biggest pup ever in here for grooming. Meet Aslan! He is an Irish wolfhound. He was so big we couldn’t even put him in the tub! Caroline sure had a busy day with him!

Update!!! Baby has found a home and I wish it was mine 😂😂😂

Help!!! We have a rehoming of this 1 year old baby girl German short haired pointer!!!

She is fantastic w other dogs and kids.
She knows the following commands and hand signals: stay, sit, all the way down, place. You tell her kennel she goes in her kennel. You tell her bed she goes on her bed. She loves fetch and they have a tug of war ball rope toy that she grabs and will run around while people chase her. She love to chase shadows and bugs like dragonflies butterflies. She does chase birds. They started to teach her to retrieve a fake duck but she seems to be a texture girl and doesn’t like the feathers. She is still on the same dog food as when they got her. She is allergic to seresto collars so she gets a monthly flea and tick pill. She is fully potty trained. She loves swimming but is a funny swimmer. She loves car rides now. She is not allowed on furniture or the kitchen while we eat. She loves chewy toys. Let’s find this baby a new home!
