Here we are a year later, and Danny still doesn’t have a home. This is the sad but unadulterated truth. Danny is losing his foster due to health reasons of the foster. Further, the rescue has to be legally closed by year’s end. We have simply run out of options for Danny. While he gets along with most dogs, he is dog selective and that has kept other rescues from taking him in. He is also around 11 years old, very healthy and spry, but a senior nonetheless. Anyone who’s been to Meadow Wood knows Danny. He was usually the first to greet you at the barn. He’s had professional obedience training, loves to play ball, and is just a really great dog. He loves being a farm dog, but he’d be equally happy in a home with someone to throw his ball for him. Yesterday was Suzy’s birthday, and I’m sure hoping for a birthday miracle. Please share far and wide. If he doesn’t get placement, I’m afraid there’s no other option but euthanasia. This is not some obnoxious sympathy ploy. I really hate those. It’s just the unfortunate truth. He’s had a great life with Suzy, and it’s certainly not the worst thing that can happen to him, but he still has so much love to give and life left in him. If you know someone who might be willing to love and care for him in his last years, please let them know about Danny. Thank you.
