**UPDATE 04/30/26**

We are saddened to announce that The Golden Eagle passed away this afternoon. When she presented to us yesterday, she was cold, dehydrated, malnourished, and very weak. Our goal was to get her stable enough so that we could surgically repair her broken femur. She rallied a bit last night after medical treatment but then took a turn this morning that she was not able to bounce back from despite the care and medical treatments that she received today. We appreciate everyone’s concerns and healing vibes that were sent her way.

This was found at the base of Wolf Creek Pass and was brought in to us today by Colorado Parks and Wildlife - Durango. It has a broken femur that can hopefully be repaired. For now it has been given fluids, antibiotics, pain meds, food, and has been placed in an incubator to rest. We’ll reevaluate in the morning and see what the next step is.

Update:

Tito found his forever home! A huge thanx to the Durango community for sharing this post. Your help and support is so appreciated. ❤️🐾❤️🐾

This puppy is looking for his furever home.
Meet “Tito”- short for Burrito. He is an 11 week old Doberman mix.

He came to us with his 4 littermates and their very sick mom when they were only 3 days old on Thanksgiving Eve. Unfortunately, their mom did not survive and this left all 5 puppies as orphans with no where to go. Two of our team members decided to take on these sweet defenseless pupppies and cared for them around the clock. They were bottle feeding them every few hours, cleaning them, and providing them with all the care, love, and attention they needed. All puppies not only survived, they also thrived!

As of this posting, all 4 of Tito’s littermates have found safe and loving homes. Tito is the last puppy remaining.

Mom was a purebred Doberman who weighed around 80 lbs. (His dad’s breed is unknown) We expect Tito to reach between 80-100 lbs at maturity. He is very healthy, current on all vaccines, and has a big heart full of love and loyalty to give.

Even though the beginning of his story was full of tragedy, it was quickly replaced with love and care. This resilient pup has overcome so much in his short life and is ready to shower his forever family with all the affection he has to give. Could that family be yours?
