πŸŒ…πŸ’ͺ🐴 The best days at National Horse Camp begin with a little hard work...and a whole lot of teamwork!

Before breakfast was ever served, our campers were already out on the ranch tackling the morning chores.

🌱 Harvesting and tending the garden
πŸ” Caring for the chickens
🌾 Feeding hay to the horses
πŸ’ͺ And joining forces to move a large round hay bale...a job that definitely required everyone's muscles and teamwork!

There's something rewarding about accomplishing so much before most people have even started their day. Around here, campers quickly learn that every chore has a purpose and every helping hand makes a difference.

The laughter, encouragement, and determination shown this morning were just another reminder that teamwork really can move mountains...or at least one very large round bale of hay! πŸ˜„

With the chores behind them, everyone was more than ready to gather around the table for a well-earned breakfast before another exciting day of horses, learning, and adventure.

At National Horse Camp, we're building more than riders. We're building character, confidence, responsibility, and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Now...bring on breakfast! 🀠❀️

🎩🐴 **An Emergency Meeting Was Called at National Horse Camp!**

Thursday night, our campers were summoned to a special emergency meeting to discuss one very important topic...the dreaded screw worm and the threat it poses to livestock.

As everyone gathered around the table, they were treated to one of the ranch's favorite comfort-food recipes...**Memaw's Rootin' Tootin' Chicken Casserole!** πŸ—β€οΈ It was the perfect meal to fuel some serious problem-solving...or at least, that's how it started!

Each camper assumed a brand-new identity, complete with outrageous characters, hilarious accents, and colorful personalities. As the discussion unfolded, ideas for eliminating the screw worm ranged from surprisingly thoughtful and practical...to completely wild and wonderfully entertaining!

The room echoed with laughter as campers debated their theories, shared creative solutions, and stayed in character throughout the evening. It was a night filled with learning, imagination, teamwork, and enough giggling to keep everyone smiling from start to finish.

After dinner, campers headed to the barn to reunite with their trusty steeds before posing for a special photo with their four-legged friends...the perfect ending to another unforgettable day at National Horse Camp.

At National Horse Camp, learning is always an adventure, and sometimes the best lessons come wrapped in laughter.

πŸ΄πŸŒ„ Another unforgettable trail day at National Horse Camp!
With saddles cinched and boots in the stirrups, our campers gathered together for a prayer, thanking God for His many blessings and asking for a safe and memorable ride.
Then it was off to explore the beautiful Sequatchie Valley!
The trail carried horse and rider through rolling pastures and scenic countryside before arriving at one of everyone's favorite destinations...the river.
There, campers enjoyed a relaxing lunch beneath the shade, cooled off in the refreshing water, and gathered together for a meaningful Bible study surrounded by the beauty of God's creation. It's hard to imagine a better classroom than a quiet riverside with horses grazing nearby.
Refreshed and recharged, it was time to mount back up and continue the adventure, enjoying more miles of trail, more laughter with friends, and more unforgettable moments in the saddle before returning to the ranch.
At National Horse Camp, every ride is about more than horseback riding. It's about growing in faith, building confidence, creating lifelong friendships, and discovering the joy of God's great outdoors.

πŸŒ…πŸ€  Another beautiful morning at National Horse Camp!

Before the aroma of breakfast filled the air, our campers were already hard at work experiencing the rhythm of life on a working ranch.

The day began with morning chores...feeding hay to the horses, caring for the chickens, checking on the sheep and goats, milking the dairy cow, giving the calf its morning bottle, and making sure every animal had fresh water and the care it needed.

There's something special about starting the day by serving others...especially the animals that have become such an important part of our campers' week.

With the chores complete, everyone gathered on the White Horse Pavilion for a hearty ranch breakfast. Around the table, stories from yesterday's adventures were shared and campers fueled up for another exciting day ahead.

Every sunrise at National Horse Camp brings new opportunities to learn, work together, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Now it's time to saddle up...because another ranch adventure is about to begin! 🐴❀️

πŸŒ…πŸ΄ An evening to remember at National Horse Camp!

While our campers were out trotting and gaiting through the beautiful pastures of the Sequatchie Valley, the ranch staff was hard at work preparing a surprise they didn't know was waiting for them.

As the riders made their way to the surprise location, they were welcomed to a special sunset dinner overlooking one of the most breathtaking views in Tennessee. With the mountains stretching across the horizon and the golden evening light filling the valley, it was the perfect setting to gather around the table with friends.

The featured meal was one of the ranch's favorites...our famous **Ponderosa Pie**, made with our own grass-fed Black Angus beef. It was the perfect meal after a full day of classes and riding!

But the adventure wasn't over yet.

After dinner, campers mounted up once again and headed back out for an unforgettable evening ride. As the sun slowly disappeared behind the mountains, horses and riders enjoyed the peaceful beauty of the Sequatchie Valley, creating one of those picture-perfect moments that will stay with them for years to come.

Days like this are why National Horse Camp is so much more than horseback riding. It's unforgettable experiences, lifelong friendships, incredible food, and memories made from sunrise to sunset.

❀️🀠 Now that's a perfect day on the ranch.

πŸ’¦πŸΈπŸ§ˆ From poolside fun to farm-fresh dairy...another memorable afternoon at National Horse Camp!

After a busy day of riding and learning, our campers enjoyed some well-earned time cooling off in the pool. Along the way, they discovered a tiny surprise visitor...a little toad who decided the pool was the perfect place to stop by and say hello! 🐸 Needless to say, our little amphibian friend was a big hit with the campers before being safely returned to its natural home.

Then it was off to the dairy kitchen for another hands-on farm experience!

Using fresh milk from **Daisy the Dairy Cow**, whom every camper had the opportunity to milk, they learned how to transform that milk into homemade butter and delicious cheese. Watching simple ingredients become something so tasty gave campers a whole new appreciation for the journey from cow to table.

There's nothing quite like enjoying food you've helped produce every step of the way...from milking the cow to making the finished product with your own hands!

At National Horse Camp, every day is filled with discoveries, laughter, practical skills, and unforgettable memories...sometimes with a tiny toad joining the adventure! ❀️🐴

🐎✨ English riding day at National Horse Camp!

Campers traded their Western saddles for English tack for a bit and spent some time building confidence, balance, and communication with their horses.

The lessons began in the round pen, where campers focused on developing a strong foundation and strengthening the partnership between horse and rider in a controlled setting. As their confidence grew, they moved to the paddock to put those skills into practice.

There, campers navigated poles and riding exercises designed to improve steering, rhythm, balance, and precision, all while becoming more in tune with their equine partners.

Every lesson is another step forward, and it's incredible to watch these young riders grow in skill and confidence with each ride. Whether they're riding Western trails through the Sequatchie Valley or refining their English riding techniques in the arena, our campers are becoming well-rounded horsemen and horsewomen.

The smiles say it all...another fantastic day in the saddle! ❀️🐴

πŸŒΎπŸ•πŸ΄ Learning by doing is what National Horse Camp is all about!

Today's classes gave campers a true farm-to-table experience as they discovered the different ways whole wheat can be transformed into flour. They learned how grain has been milled throughout history, using everything from a traditional grinding stone to a hand-cranked grinding wheel, before seeing how a modern WonderMill makes the process faster and more efficient.

With freshly milled flour in hand, it was time to become ranch chefs! Campers mixed, kneaded, and rolled out pizza dough from scratch before creating their own personal pizzas, piling on their favorite toppings and getting them ready for the oven.

Meanwhile, on the horse side of camp, campers learned about the importance of electrolytes in keeping horses healthy and hydrated, especially during these warm summer days. They even learned how to make electrolytes and why they play such an important role in equine care.

Then came the best part...lunch! Everyone gathered together to enjoy the delicious pizzas they had created with their own hands. There's something extra rewarding about sharing a meal you've prepared from the very beginning, starting with whole wheat and ending with a hot, homemade pizza.

From caring for horses to cooking from scratch, every lesson at National Horse Camp teaches practical skills, builds confidence, and creates memories that will last a lifetime.

πŸŒ…πŸ€  The ranch comes alive before breakfast...and so do our campers!

The morning began with the daily chores that are all part of life on a working ranch. Campers rolled up their sleeves to milk the dairy cow, care for the chickens, give the calf its morning bottle, check and fill water troughs, and put out fresh hay for the horses. The garden needed to be harvested so they tackled that as well! Every chore teaches responsibility, teamwork, and the importance of caring for the animals that depend on us each day.

With the chores complete, it was time to gather around the chuckwagon for another delicious farm-to-table breakfast.

This morning's menu featured creamy grits, farm-fresh eggs, and warm drop biscuits made with freshly milled wheat and farm fresh milk. There's nothing quite like enjoying a hearty breakfast made with ingredients you've helped produce from the ground up!

Now that everyone is fueled up, it's time to saddle the horses and head out for another day of learning, laughter, and adventure at National Horse Camp!

❀️🐴 Around here, every sunrise brings new opportunities, every meal tells a story, and every day creates memories that last a lifetime.

πŸŒ…πŸ΄ The adventure didn't end when the trail ride was over!

Back at the ranch, our campers jumped right into another important part of ranch life by mucking their horses' stalls and making sure their four-legged partners had clean, comfortable places to rest. This meant they had to work as team to get the shavings unloaded from the truck so they could add the needed shavings to their horses' stalls.

Then it was off to the White Horse Pavilion for a delicious chuckwagon-style dinner with a hands-on twist! Campers rolled their own tortillas using dough made from freshly milled wheat before cooking them on the tortilla press. Once they were hot and ready, they filled them with hearty **Cowboy Beans**, just like cowboys on the Old West cattle drives would have enjoyed after a long day in the saddle.

After dinner, there was one more trip to the barn to give their horses fresh hay and water, ending the day the same way it began...caring for the animals that have become such an important part of their camp experience.

With the chores finished, everyone gathered for a fun card game, plenty of laughter, and popcorn before heading off to bed.

From riding and ranch work to cooking, caring, and making lifelong friendships, every day at National Horse Camp is packed with unforgettable moments.

Tomorrow brings another adventure! 🀠❀️🐎
