Attention Clients, π
As we enter hurricane season we want to assure you that Critter Sitter is prepared with a clear plan to keep your pets safe and cared for. Here's what you need to know about our procedures during any tropical storm or hurricane activity:
As we know last year's events were tragic and hard on us all. This has understandably brought up many concerns and questions regarding their pet while in our care in the event of another hurricane.
π¨ 1. Stay Calm and organized!
We closely monitor all storm developments via the National Hurricane Center. We will communicate any service adjustments as early as possible based on the stormβs track and intensity.
π‘ 2. Drop-In Visits
If a storm is imminent: Drop-in visits will be paused 24 hours prior to landfall or earlier depending on evacuation notices or road conditions.
We will not risk our staffs safety during dangerous weather. Clients will be notified immediately if a visit needs to be cancelled, the pet needs to be placed at a safe location/boarding or the emergency contact needs to take over visits due to evacuation notices.
If you're traveling and cannot return early, we strongly encourage local backup contacts (neighbor/friend/family) who can access your home if needed.
πΆ 3. In-Home Boarding (If applicable)
If your pet is boarding with us:
We will continue care as long as it is safe to remain in our home. We are always stocked with enough water, supplies, crates and a generator β‘π‘π¬οΈ
If we must evacuate, your pet will evacuate with us or can be placed at your preferred emergency contact if time allows. We keep you updated on location and wellbeing if evacuation is required.
**Please send enough food, medications, and supplies for at least 7 days, in case of delivery disruptions and travel restrictions.**
π§Ύ 4. Refunds & Cancellations
If we cancel due to weather, you will receive credit for any missed services.
If you cancel due to weather concerns, please provide as much notice as possible. We will waive late cancellation fees during any official tropical storm or hurricane warnings.

Update your pet profile in the portal with any storm-related notes (i.e., hiding spots, anxiety behavior, medications etc. )
π² 6. Communication
