The Bichon Frise originated in the Mediterranean region, likely descending from the Barbet (a type of water spaniel) and was part of a group of small, fluffy white dogs collectively known as “Barbichon” types—which included the Maltese, Havanese, and Bolognese.

The Bichon Frise gained popularity in France, particularly during the Renaissance, and became a favorite among European nobility, especially during the time of King Henry III. Despite falling out of favor after the French Revolution, the breed survived as a street and circus performer due to its charm and intelligence.

The name Bichon Frise means “curly lap dog” in French (frisé = curly). The breed was officially recognized by the French Kennel Club in 1933 and later by the American Kennel Club in 1972.

First, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated to Cebele’s fundraiser. Your support means the world to us and has helped so much in keeping her stable during this difficult time. 🙏💖

As you know, we’re still trying to get Cebele the expensive testing she needs while her health is stable. Every dollar counts, and we’re hopeful that with your continued help, we’ll reach our goal soon! 🐾

I’m so relieved to share that Cebele is doing better, thank goodness. 🙏 This past weekend was incredibly scary, and I was terrified that I might lose her. 😔

While she’s showing signs of improvement, we’re not out of the woods yet. Our next goal is to get her well enough for a much-needed CT scan, which will hopefully help us understand why she’s been experiencing these troubling bloody noses.

If we can raise enough funds, we can finally get the answers we desperately need. Thank you for your continued support and prayers during this difficult time. 💖
