🚨 PLEASE HELP BRING CRICKET HOME — DUFFIELD, VIRGINIA 🚨

My beloved kitten, Cricket, escaped from his carrier this morning outside Rasnick Animal Clinic on Industrial Park Road in Duffield, Virginia. He ran toward the employee parking area and disappeared. I am heartbroken and extremely worried about his safety.

Please, everyone in the Duffield and surrounding areas, keep your eyes open, check underneath vehicles, porches, bushes, sheds, and other quiet hiding places. Cricket may be frightened, so please do not chase him. Gently call his name and contact me immediately if you see him.

Please share this post and pray that God protects Cricket from traffic, animals, weather, and every danger—and safely guides him back into loving arms.

☀️ The heat is on, friends! ☀️

If you’ve seen next week’s forecast, you know we’re in for some dangerously high temperatures. Please keep your furry family members in mind.

🐾 Make sure they always have access to plenty of fresh, cool water.
🐾 Provide shade if they’re spending any time outdoors.
🐾 Limit walks and outdoor play to the early morning or late evening when it’s cooler.
🐾 Remember that pavement and concrete can become hot enough to burn paw pads. If you have to take your dog out, consider using protective booties or stick to grassy areas whenever possible.
🐾 Never leave your pet in a parked vehicle—even for a few minutes.

Watch for signs of heat exhaustion, including excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse. If you notice any of these signs, move your pet to a cool area and contact your veterinarian immediately.

Polydactyl cats are born with extra toes, most often on their front paws. It’s a genetic trait and is usually completely harmless, just an extra dose of cute. That said, those extra toes can come with a few care considerations. More toes means more nails to trim, and sometimes they grow at different angles or are easier to snag if not maintained. Most polydactyl cats live totally normal, healthy lives, but regular paw checks and nail trims are important to keep them comfortable.
