Coming out of the work room this month, this beautiful lace tablecloth got some new life! After some careful excision of the viable parts, this precious heirloom will grace the dining room for (hopefully) years to come.

WE'RE MOVING!

After eight years of assisting Youngstown, Ohio clients with their alterations, custom clothing, and home decor needs, The Patched Orchid will be saying goodbye, and relocating to the Columbus area in August 2023.

In order to support this transition, The Patched Orchid will be stopping services, beginning in July, and will take no additional orders until after the transition is complete, which is projected for September 2023.

I would like to send a heartfelt "thank you" to all of my Youngstown customers for their awesome support, and for eight wonderful years.

Further information regarding my new business location and hours of service will be posted as soon as they are available. I look forward to new opportunities and challenges in Columbus!

A tree the kids and grandkids can actually touch! This three foot felt tree hangs easily on the wall with damage free velcro strips, and comes with your choice of dark green or white stitching. One of four customizable felt toppers (angel, star, dove, or bow, see pictures below) and up to twenty four felt ornaments (patterns pictured below) in a rainbow of colors are available for you to add to your order. Keep things simple, or organize a family craft project and personalize each one with puff paint, fancy trim, colored thread/yarn, and all kinds of crafting supplies! Since felt sticks to felt very easily, the ornaments can be arranged and rearranged on the tree over and over again, year after year.

This was a project initiated by my sister-in-law, who is currently stationed with my brother overseas in Germany. She wanted a Halloween costume, based on the character Sally from "The Nightmare Before Christmas" that could be used everyday. To expand the versatility of the outfit, both the corset (McCall's pattern M7339) and spats (McCall's pattern M6975) were made to be reversible, so that she could either play Sally or Oogie Boogie, or a combination of the two.

The hooded coat, which is an original pattern, was drafted using thirteen different fabrics (mostly heavy weight cotton blends and flannel) that were first sewn, and then hand-stitched with doubled size 20 thread. It is fully lined with super soft blizzard fleece, and features flannel pockets, a back tie with side loops for the perfect fit, and detailed artwork. The under-sleeves are made from a double layer of rib knit fabric, also stitched with doubled size 20 thread, and extend to cover the hand.
