What an awesome day at the first inaugural Western Heritage Classic Top Dog competition. After 2 go rounds in front of an amazing crowd, Gus is coming home with the buckle. Thank you to Steve Scott, and everyone else who made this fun event happen!

Monday morning lineup after a very successful weekend at the WES Arena cattle dog trial!
Gus was 2nd in the open Friday and Cricket won the open Saturday. She was also 3rd in the nursery Saturday.
Donna placed 4th both days in the nursery, all bringing home some $$.

Another successful weekend. The Bar None cattle dog trial was very fun and challenging. Cricket pulled off the average win in the open. Winning Saturday and 3rd Sunday. Also picked up a 3rd place Saturday in nursery.
Donna finished 4th Saturday in nursery and Gus pulled in a 4th place finish Sunday in the open.

Got the call today to help gather and educate some cattle with Randal of Satus Stockdogs. Both these dogs won go rounds in the open class this past weekend. Today they penned a group of wild fresh cattle that couldn’t be penned with horses. We broke them down into small groups and dog broke them for the owners. The red heifer in this video was the first back in the pens after letting them out to pasture again.

We currently have several client dogs available for new employment including this very nice 3yr old ABCA male “Max”. Broke and easy to get along with. Very strong confident dog capable of all aspects of ranch work and broke enough to trial. He has been shown in the novice class at several cattle dog trials. The dust has settled and we are home from Vernon Tx and a long week at the SWCDA futurity, maturity, and finals. We are extremely proud of all the dogs and were fortunately able to bring home some hardware.
Firstly and most importantly, Logan and Spicy are the youth champions of the finals! They completed full scores both days in fast fashion. Very minimal coaching the first day and zero coaching the second day from me. I’m so proud of Logan’s confidence and determination to work Spicy and look forward to their future together.
As for the rest of the crew, Stella (owned by Cole and Kayla Emmons Fincher) is the Swcda Nursery champion and reserve dog of the year! She also was 2nd in the first go round of the ranch.
Rain (owned by Misty Erwin) pulled some go round checks and finished 4th in the nursery.
