Our Christmas Day Fox Red Labrador Retriever litter is almost two weeks old, and these tiny “agents” are already hard at work investigating the world around them!

These Christmas babies are growing quickly and filling our days with tiny squeaks, tail wiggles, and milestone moments. As always, they are being raised with intention, love, and a strong focus on health, temperament, and early socialization.

Why do breeders have this policy?

For us, it’s all about making the best possible match between our puppies and their future families. We spend a great deal of time getting to know you—learning about your home, your lifestyle, and what you’re hoping for in a puppy. We share information about our dogs and our program to be sure we’re the right fit for one another. We keep detailed lists, answer questions, open our home, and invest in preparing you long before your puppy ever arrives.

This preparation includes guidance on potty training, crate training, general training, health care, nutrition, and introductions. Our goal is to set you and your future puppy up for success from the very beginning.

Unfortunately, many people place their names on multiple lists or make quick, impulsive decisions. When this happens, the time and effort we’ve spent building a relationship and preparing a family is lost—and it’s not ideal for the puppies or the families involved. Keeping up-to-date waiting lists alone is incredibly time-consuming, which is why many breeders use a non-refundable retainer.

We’ve added one special reassurance: your retainer never expires.
If the timing isn’t right, or if a planned puppy isn’t born, your retainer remains in place until you’re ready. Life happens—we understand.

We are entrusting you with a living being, and we want this to be a beautiful story for both your family and the puppy. When you take home one of our puppies, you become part of our TPL family and our legacy. We’re deeply invested, and we hope you feel just as committed. Puppies aren’t a whim—they’re a 12–15-year commitment filled with love, learning, and companionship.
