Huskyā€™s specificallyā€¦
We had Gage long before we moved to the farm and had to quickly adapt to his predatory behaviors.
He has killed his fair share of chickens, cats, and groundhogs.

If we lived on the farm when we were originally looking into the kind of dog we wanted.
Huskyā€™s are ļæ¼escape artists, love to dig and are very prey driven!

Before you purchase a dog, do research!!

I get the point of a a scrapieā€™s tag, I really do, but they are not ideal for goats!
Goats get themselves in trouble all the time. Heads stuck in fences, climbing where they arenā€™t supposed to, and itā€™s so easy to just yank that sucker right out.

Donā€™t worry, sheā€™s okay, everything was taken care of and cleaned!

When we moved to the homestead I said nope, never.
Turns out I was waaaay wrong

Switching to Nubians had been an amazing thing!
They are all so loving, great milk production and even better personalities!
If you can get over the screaming, they are wonderful!

And I mean just look at this little babe. šŸ˜

One thing about me, I HATE mice. Like with a burning passion. Rodents gross me out, I cannot stand them.

We have found our fair share of snakes here on the homestead, and for the most part they STAY!

We even had one in our basement for the first year we lived here!

Black snakes are GOOD snakes (yes there are good snakes) especially if you have lots of mice!

When we moved in the mice were out of control.
In the house and barn.
After letting the snakes do their job, the numbers have decreased drastically.

We no longer have a snake in the house, but we have plenty in the barn and they get to live out their life snacking on the rodents!

Give me a black snake over a mouse any day.

Anywho, HAPPY TUESDAY!
