Two weeks ago Rakker and I showed PSG at Haras Hacienda. I was planning to bring Rolex to the show but he went lame with only one week to go before the show. Rakker stepped up to the plate and we took first place both days and he ushered me to my silver medal. Between the two of those horses I have an awesome team. Without them I would just be hanging out on some beach living on margaritas and chips.....hum.

This weekend Rakker and I got our second qualifying score at I-1 for Gold. On to Grand Prix! At 20 years old he still got game! Old guys rock! The conditions were perfect, I rode as best as I could and I squeaked through. I have serious work to do for Grand Prix!

Came back from Houston with 3 Blue Ribbons, one qualifying score for a gold medal on Rakker for I-1, and 2 qualifying scores at 4-3 for silver with Rolex. I could not be more proud of my boys! Amazing coaching along the way from Nancy Fair, and Carolyn West who helped me unleash the brilliance of my horses. A shout out to MyBarnHelp.com. My rancher left the weekend before the show. I was able to get amazing temporary coverage. I would not have been able to make it without Cara who stepped in and took charge. THANK YOU Alexis and Tracy.

I am pleased to announce two upcoming clinics here at Dancing Oaks.

On October 18th and 19th, we will host Jochen Hippenstiel. Head trainer since 2002 of the Tempel Lipizzans, Jochen has coached the most winning group of riders a the USDF Region 2 Regional Dressage Championships. Jochen has trained more than 15 horses to Grand Prix, including Adrett, ridden by Pia Laus for Italy in two Olympics and two World Cup competitions. Jochen received his master's degree as an instructor with one of the highest scores ever recorded, and twice placed second in the German Championships for professionals at thee Grand Prix level. He has been coached by some of Europe's most famous equestrians including three time Olympic Gold Metalist Harry Boldt, and U.S. Team Coach Klaus Balkenhol.

On October 25th and 26th we will host Carolyn West. Carolyn competed up the levels winning the team gold at USPC National Rally. Under the tutelage of Hilda Guerney in California, Carolyn and the horse Amirado competed successfully at Grand Prix. Carolyn has received her "L" Certification from the USDF Judges Program and judges schooling shows in the southeast. She trains at Motlow Creek Equestrian Center in Capobello South Carolina.

Rakker and I last weekend competing at the Ranch Park here in Dripping. Two solid days of showing. We have work to get to our qualifying scores for gold. My boy delivered me my first blue ribbon a few months ago in San Antonio. It is amazing what these wonderful creatures will do for us.

Santa delivered a special gift this year, a motion tracking video! I am still working on all of its capabilities. It is an amazing learning tool. I video just about all of my rides and watch them. (Watching is the hardest part!) Although I have mirrors and use them, I saw in the video how I collapse my shoulder during the lateral work. It is a great tool for the times when we work alone.

Happy New Year. I would like to thank all boarders present and past who have made Dancing Oaks a dream come true. Lisa Tannehill...words cannot say enough. I wish you the best in 2017 and special luck with the large R program. To the clinicians Lars Peterson, Robert Dover, and Dinah Babcock thank you for the inspiring guidance to what is the most profound discipline on earth. To those who have and do instruct here, Nancy Fair, Lisa Tannehill, and Ashley Shaw, you have created better people and horses through your words and direction. Finally for those whose hard work make all this possible, Jacob Alvarado, Ray Herrera, and now Corey Kane, I owe you all my heart! Finally, let all the beautiful horses who touch our lives every day be blessed!
