Meet Reigh, SDI’s Office Manager! 🐕‍🦺

Reigh began her SDI career in Animal Care before becoming our Office Manager, gaining hands-on experience across nearly every part of our operations. Today, that broad understanding makes her an invaluable resource, whether she’s solving a problem, connecting people with what they need, or keeping our team moving forward.

Reigh brings positive energy and thoughtful support to everything she does. She wants her work to make a genuine difference, and at SDI, she finds that purpose in helping create life-changing partnerships between people and Service Dogs.

A VERY quick snapshot of the process! Training a Service Dog can take up to two years, as our dogs need to learn a wide variety of tasks and become familiar with working in lots of different environments. Meet Austin, SDI’s Kennel Culture & Enrichment Lead! 🐕‍🦺

Before joining our team, Austin was already one of our dogs’ biggest fans on social media, falling in love with every smile and watching them build their careers as Service Dogs. She was even moved to tears during her interview as she imagined working alongside dogs who would one day provide steadfast support to people who need them most.

With a college degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Austin understands the healing power of connection. She believes everyone could use more love in daily life, and that dogs make giving it look easy. In her role, she brings that belief into the kennels by creating enrichment that supports each dog’s emotional well-being, confidence, and growth.

The dogs have shaped Austin, too. Working alongside them has taught her to hold space for others, communicate more clearly, regulate emotions, and set healthy boundaries. They bring her back to the present and remind her that no one has to face everything alone.

We’re grateful for the compassion, thoughtfulness, and heart Austin brings to our dogs and our team every day! 🧡

Another day in the life of our Service Dogs! 🐕‍🦺 Here at SDI, our training program starts with building confidence and learning basic behaviors, moving on to common obedience behaviors, and eventually focusing on client-specific tasks, such as opening doors and alerting to sounds. Our former strays will one day change lives… and as you can see, they’re already doing a fantastic job! ✨

Meet Gianne, SDI’s Kennel Wellness and Behavior Lead! 🐕‍🦺

Gianne brings care, curiosity, and a sharp eye for behavior to every dog he works with. As he works toward becoming a veterinarian, he is building hands-on expertise in canine wellness and behavior while helping our team recognize what each dog needs to feel secure, healthy, and ready to learn.

His role is essential to the success of our dogs. By advocating for their well-being and helping the team better understand their behavior, Gianne builds the foundation they need to grow into confident, dependable Service Dogs.

We’re proud to have someone so thoughtful and dedicated caring for the dogs at the heart of our mission. 🧡
