We’re often asked about display of a trophy after a successful hunt. Showcasing an 800+ pound beast isn’t the easiest task, especially if you have confined space and traditional eight foot ceilings. A pedestal mount - a platform on the ground - is often a good alternative and looks more natural than a wall mount in many cases.

Joe Imler-Knisley and his 2024 regular season Zone 2 bull has been pedestal mounted as a European mount on a whiskey barrel with his and son Payden’s names burned into the wood. A great trophy display that looks good and is easily moved if necessary.

Hunting season is very busy and that includes the PGC check-in station, especially during regular season with crowds, media and a small platoon of Game Commission employees and biologists. We just discovered this great video from last year by the Williamsport Sun-Gazette which features our Zone 6 bull hunter Scott Dimmit, HRO guide Ernie Bertolasio, our Zone 10 cow hunter Brenna Henry and HRO guide Scott Armstrong.

Scott Dimmit’s bull gross scored 409”.

Bulls on the move. Bachelor group buddies are starting to separate, they will soon rub their velvet and the rut will start. Bugles are starting to he heard. The next month sees a lot of changes in elk country.
