🥶 With snow season coming and winter weather, I do end up getting some cancellations. But because the spots are still being held on my schedule, I still consider snow/weather cancellations last-minute cancellations. Unless there is a state of emergency and I am unable to drive.
I am still open and out and about in most types of weather. If I cancel or end up closing for the day, then I do not expect payment. But if I am open, payment is required to hold the spots for the day, week or month. If I can, I always try to make up any lost time in the same week (longer walks or additional walk). But I do not give credits for last minute cancellations after Sundays. Especially since winter/holidays business slows down a lot for me, I can't afford to give out credits for every cancellation. Especially if it is last minute (after Sundays). I'm not able to fill spots on my schedule last minute unless someone happens to need me. but I'll always try to make up time or do an extra trip within the same week.
It's no one's fault that the weather gets bad but these are prime spots on my schedule (between 9am-2pm) and I only have a few hours a day to make money with my dog walks, so it's really important to me that those prime spots are consistently filled and paid for. I always get emails with new potential clients that I cannot take on because there are no consistently weekly spots open, so I really do appreciate it when they are paid for. If there are too many missed days within a month, I might have to fill the spot with a more consistent client.
I'll get busy again in about March and April until about school getting out in June. Then I lose a few clients for the summer. I do not hold spots on my schedule for months, so I cannot guarantee that spots will be available when September comes. I do recommend my clients keep me on for the summer to keep their preferred spot on my weekly schedule. I always accept clients back if I can fit them back in! ❤️
I appreciate you all so very much!
