πΎWe have had several calls concerning parvo in the Smith Center area. It is a good idea to check your dog's vaccination status as there have been several confirmed cases. Due to the virus being active in the community we are sharing some tips how to protect your dog and other's canine pals.
1. Making sure your pet's vaccinations are current. π
2. Schedule an appointment if you need updated vaccinations. π
3. Limit social outings (stores, parks, friend's houses) with your pet, even fully vaccinated dogs are at risk for mild infections). π‘
4. If you are notified your pet has been around another pet with parvo, contact us right away for a parvo specific booster - even if they are current on normal vaccinations. π
5. Let us know if your pet is ill ... sooner rather than later. π
6. If you have a sick pet and need an appt please keep your pet in your vehicle. Do not unload it at the clinic. We will come out to your vehicle. π
