This independently run page is dedicated to increasing adoptions for the pets impounded at the Downey Animal Care Center, a high intake shelter located in Downey California (suburban Los Angeles). We welcome all responsible networkers and crossposters and will endeavor to provide them with as much accurate information as possible about the shelter's impounded pets. Please note that most

of the Downey Animal Care Center staff do not have access to this page on their computers - and therefore cannot monitor Facebook posts offering rescue or adoption. The Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control requires that all adoptions be done in person - and does not accept adoption offers via telephone, or Facebook.
