NovaStar Rescue To educate, advocate, rescue and rehabilitate. NovaStar Rescue is a small nonprofit rescue located in Dover Arkansas. This is our purpose and mission.

Our main focus is to advocate , educate, rescue and rehabilitate Bully Breeds with a special emphasis on the pitbull. We believe Pitties are the most loyal yet most misunderstood dogs. Whether they come from off the streets or out of the shelters, every Pittie deserves a chance at a good home where they will be loved and cherished as a family member.

Adoption fees for most other dogs is $150 for today and tomorrow. Please fill out an adoption application and come meet the STARS!!

So I was just kidding when I said Sunday was a Monday....🫣 Monday has taken offense to that i guess and presented us with a whole other set of issues. 😢

First a young cat with a limp. Turns out its knee was blown out and shrapnel in its foot. We are going to wait a couple weeks because the cat doesn't appear to be in any pain. So we will wait a couple weeks on the decision to amputate. She is neg for the cat diseases and is getting spayed today!! Her name is now Jazzy. Thanks Tisha for getting her safe!!

Earlier this morning we got a message about 2 dogs in chains starving and cold! 🥶 The male also appeared to have a collar embedded in his neck. The collar was attached to a chain by a huge bolt. The "owner" surrendered the dogs. The male is now at Dr Jones to get the collar cut off and the wound cleaned up. It is very infected and smelled like death! Videos in comments. The male is Grimm and female is Prada. Names they already know.

We will update on both situations later today. If you would like to donate for either of these situations we would sure appreciate it!!

⭐️😂⭐️MONDAY MADNESS⭐️😂⭐️

Usually our craziest day is Monday but it seemed like Monday came a day early this week! 😳 Besides the mommy in distress, we were also contacted about this little mommy and her 2 tiny puppies, abandoned at an empty house. Some kind souls who were working on the house got hold of one of our staff. We made a quick trip to pick them up once we had our mommy settled. They would have surely frozen with temps last nite in the teens🥶🥶

So today we have 7 new Stars joining the Rescue.

Mom and her 3 tiny newborns have settled in so well. Mom actually ate a little bit last nite and was able to nurse her puppies briefly!! This is really good news!

It is thanks to all of you who step up every time we have a need that we are able to help in these emergency cases. Without your help we would not be able to help nearly as many as we do!! So THANK YOU ALL!

Momma made it to the vet on time and as expected she had to an emergency c-section. There was sadly 2 deceased puppies that she was unable to deliver. Her uterus was very angry and she was clearly struggling and you could see it in her eyes that she was defeated. She was such a good girl and we could tell she was scared but she trusted us and we promised to make her feel better. Dr. Davis was able to safely remove the deceased fetuses and mommy is going to be well on her way to recovering. The 3 babies she did successfully deliver are doing well. Once we got them warmed up and got their tummies full. They have settled and are just waiting for mommy to feel better.

Unfortunately our peaceful Sunday Morning has been shattered!! We were contacted about a sweet little pit who went into labor a couple of days ago and then she disappeared and the family could not find her. They found her today and she has a puppy stuck half in and half out. It has gone back in now and we are not able to get it out so we are headed for a c-section probably at Dr Davis's. we will update as soon as we know for sure. she has three live puppies and they are very very cold so we are hoping we can save those. we need all the prayers and good thoughts we can get and if you can donate for this very unexpected medical emergency to try to save this sweet little dog, please do!

Puppies and other dogs are all $200 today for FULLY VETTED dogs! Spayed, neutered, shots, etc.

Come out today and visit the STARS. Take one for a DOGGY DAY OUT for a few hours! Or just come pass out treats!

A fun time was had by all at our NovaStar Christmas party last nite. Great food, fun games and Dirty Santa gifts for all!! Lots of laughs and just good times relaxing and forgetting the every day grind of rescue for a few hours.

The NOVASTAR CHRISTMAS PARTY IS ABOUT TO KICK OFF!! Sooooo much good food. Ill definitely be stuffed later!! My Board members and my staff at the rescue work hard every day to keep the wheels rolling on this bus called RESCUE! This is just a small thank you in comparison to all they do!!

FIVE DOLLAR FRIDAY IS HERE AGAIN! The rescue was very busy while transport was on the road this week. We are seeing so many severe mange cases, injuries and starved dogs. We are "closed to intake" but there are always those that we simply cannot turn away; however, our vet bills need to be paid down or we will have to start saying no to even the worst and to the ones who need our help most.

We were contacted yesterday about 5 puppies in horrible shape with mange, infection and starving. We got 2 seen by our vet. It is sarcoptic mange with secondary infection, requiring lots of baths, antibiotics, ivermectin/Nexgard, a good deworming, good food and a clean environment. The finders were kind enough to foster these pups!

We also took in a dog with a horrific leg injury. He is headed to the vet today to see what can be done about that leg.

We received a plea for help late last nite about a beautiful pittie boy with double cherry eye. This will require surgery to repair.

We also took an emaciated dog who was left chained on an abandoned lot. The Conway County sheriff's office was notified, said there was nothing they could do and to call a rescue. We were notified and went and removed the dog and let the sheriff's office know we had the dog. He is very very thin and full of worms and fleas. He ducks when you go to approach or pet and has obviously not been treated well.

All these dogs plus all our other Stars all require vetting including shots, worming, flea/tick meds, spay and neuter, etc., along with treating the injuries and mange. We have now 10 dogs with very severe mange.

If you can help us out this holiday season with our vet bills it would be much appreciated. We cant continue to take all the medical cases we have been asked to help lately without your help. Please help us help them!

It seems when we did our Santa Paws lists that we left out a few of our tinier Stars... 😬🫣 We still have many puppies up for adoption who would love some smaller puppy toys and teething/chew toys! ❄️❄️⭐️⭐️WISHLIST WEDNESDAY⭐️⭐️❄️❄️ Our list this week is truly extraordinary!! The STARS HAD ONE REQUEST for today. And that was for everyone who has made their Christmas the brightest ever to have the most unforgettable HOLIDAYS EVER!! The Stars and our entire team are deeply humbled by the overwhelming generosity from this community and from across the country!! You all rose ABOVE AND BEYOND for these precious homeless dogs. THANK YOU is simply not enough to express our heartfelt gratitude!!

The other heartfelt wish is for JESSE and SAVANNA to have a foster home to heal and recuperate from their mange and itchy skin. If you can open up your heart and home.... I know they aren't as cute as Possum but they are just as deserving of love and care.

THANK YOU ALL AGAIN FOR LOVING OUR STARS. WE ARE FOREVER GRATEFUL.

NovaStar Rescue is a small, predominantly foster-based, rescue in Ola, Arkansas. We are not breed specific but our main focus has always been to save, educate, and advocate for the pitties. Whether our dogs are rescued from the streets, saved from a shelter, or their owners have surrendered them we firmly believe that every dog deserves a chance to have a good home where they can be a loved and cherished member of the family.
