There's Enough Room for All of Us to Win 🫶

🐾🐾Today I was reminded of just how powerful community can be, even in business. A fellow pet sitter reached out to me, saying she had heard great things about my work and wanted to connect, not to compete, but to support each other, have each other's backs when one of us is booked, share knowledge, and build a network where we both succeed. It was a refreshing reminder that we don't have to see each other as competition; there's enough space, clients, and growth for all of us. When we show up for each other, we all rise. This is very much appreciated because often times, I've seen people steal my ideas and try to use them for their own success. I've seen this many times over the years with not only my business but also my friends' businesses.

Hi, I’m Katie! I’m a proud wife and mom with a wonderful family that includes my husband, our 3 children, three dogs, two cats, two horses, and even a chinchilla. 🐶🐱🐴🐹

For over 20 years, I've worked in veterinary medicine, dedicating my career to the health and well-being of animals. As a business owner, I’m thrilled to now run Claws and Paws Pet Sitting, where I get to combine my love for animals with my passion for helping the community! We have been serving the community for over 15 years!

In addition to our pet sitting services, I operate a Mobile Vaccine Clinic, offering low-cost vaccines to ensure pets in our community receive the care they need. 🐾 I believe in giving back, and I’m here to make sure every animal, big or small, gets the attention they deserve.

At a networking meeting today, we had a powerful conversation about discovering our "why"—the driving force behind what we do. It really made me reflect on my own journey and purpose.

I realized that my "why" is deeply rooted in community, compassion, and care.

I do what I do because I want to help both the people and the animals in my community. Whether it's through pet sitting, nail trims, or vaccines, I’m here to support pets in living healthier, happier lives. But it goes beyond just the animals—I’m also here for their humans. I take pride in being someone my clients can turn to for answers, advice, and support. I want them to feel heard, cared for, and confident in the choices they make for their pets.

At the heart of it all, my biggest "why" is my family—especially my daughter. She inspires me every single day to be the best version of myself, to work hard, and to lead with love and integrity.
