When getting into grooming, I was always warned about the sadness that comes hand in hand with it.

Losing the pets you've gotten to know. Seeing the conditions some animals are kept in and how poorly some are treated.

Warned constantly about how much working with animals would only make you hate people.

And while all of that is hard to process, and after 12 years of working with animals I have been left questioning humanity countless times. I've never given credit to how much this field can make you LOVE people-a warning much needed.

I have had a handful of human clients pass away recently, and it has by far been the most difficult part of this career to navigate.

The people you didn't realize just how much you've grown to love and care for, passing away. The clients you see time after time, not only trusting you with their pets but becoming a part of your daily life. Getting to know someone in 15 minutes increments, monthly, over years you together celebrate marriages, kids going to college, new babies, to Christmas cards, etc. Give support to their own lossses. To suddenly, them, being gone.

There is so much loss in life. And the reminders are here every single day.

It's so important we are kind to one another. And we love one another. And we give grace and patience to the people around us. Time is FAST. And our daily interactions matter so incredibly much.

There has been a new loss, person or pet, if not multiple, every month for the past 6 months at least. My heart is so, so sad, but I am more and more grateful for you all by the day. So grateful that some of my client relationships have existed so long you've truly been a part of watching me growing up. I say all this to say, while I LOVE seeing your dogs, I also LOVE seeing you. Thank you for being a part of my chaos. 🫶🏻

❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

With a State of Emergency set to go into effect first thing tomorrow morning and the potential mandate of driving restrictions all appointments for Sunday 1/25 will be rescheduled. Appointments for the remainder of next week will be notified ASAP if future closures are necessary as well to keep everyone safe. Who knows, your pup may appreciate a little extra fuzz during these temps for insulation. 🐶🥶

Please do your part, keep an eye on your elderly and disabled neighbors, see if there is anything they may need help getting before snowfall. And otherwise stay home, stay warm, and help keep roads clear for proper snow removal and emergency personnel.

Every holiday season I am completely overwhelmed with reminders at how amazing and supportive you all are. From cards, to homemade treats, to gifts- me and my family get absolutely spoiled and I can't thank you all enough.

The patience and kindness you've all shown me not only this month, but year round does not gone unnoticed.

Thank you for continuing to keep me as part of your pups care team. Happy holidays to all of you, and I am excited to continue seeing you in the new year!

Hello everyone, I want to start off by saying thank you to everyone for your patience with me over the last few weeks. There have been a million annoying little things going on with my health, and it has taken all of my focus. I understand the uncertainty and inconsistency in my communication has been frustrating, but please know I am working on solutions and your kindness towards me has not gone unnoticed. Over the next few days my wonderful family will be helping me get in touch with everyone that has been awaiting scheduling updates, replies, etc.

Some quick updates:

-I have been fortunate enough to work out a new agreement with my landlords that will allow me to offer both in shop appointments AND mobile appointments. I am working on a break-down to explain the difference in pricing for each service, as well as availability for both services.

-I had my medical procedure sooner than I originally anticipated (the reason behind me being MIA for a few days) and will be having an unexpected additional procedure as well. Getting December appointments straightened out will be my FIRST priority.

Thank you all again, and I will be in touch with you shortly.

If anyone messaged me regarding upcoming appointments and has not heard back, PLEASE RE-SEND YOUR MESSAGE. I have had such a rush of messages that my phone has been glitching. Please text at (302) 331-7432 OR email at [email protected]

My apologies, thank you!

A warm hello to all of my lovely clients, please bear with me as this is a long one in efforts to be transparent.

As we transition into the holiday season, some BIG changes will be coming for Fur The Pet Studio as well.

It is after careful consideration, I have made a difficult decision to say farewell to my current shop location and transition into mobile grooming. While the space in Longacre Village Shopping Center has served me well these past few years, I have learned A LOT about what I dream to see my business become and what my body is able to physically handle, coupled with multiple other personal/family changes and factors, I have to make some big changes if I want to continue with this venture.

One of my biggest determining factors is that I will be undergoing surgery late November of this year to ideally aid in some pain management.

I was hoping to wait until after the New Year to make this announcement and transition, but to prioritize my health, I can’t postpone this procedure any longer. I will be out for a small period of time following, but no worries, assuming all goes according to plan, I will return in time for the “Christmas Craze” just closer to home, in a new space, and at a little bit of a slower pace while I finish recovery.

While I understand this decision will not serve all of my existing clientele in a practical way, and it may force some tough goodbyes, at this time it is the best option for myself, my family, and the longevity of my career. I am working on securing some stationary locations to park occasionally, to hopefully continue to help serve some of those that mobile grooming will not work for. Though there will be a lot of learning curves, I am excited for all of the new doors that will open and hope you all are too!

What does this mean for …

Appointments?

For any appointments scheduled AFTER 11/26/2025, you will be contacted and offered to reschedule as a mobile appointment, or I can gladly provide your pets grooming notes so that you can move on to the stationary shop of your choice.

Clients?

My hope is that this will give me the opportunity to start taking on some new clients as well, but I am going to prioritize my existing clientele and then move forward from there.

I will absolutely post more updates as I work on ironing out all of the details. I appreciate you all, and hope to keep seeing you.

Our phones have been down since Sunday (thank you to the clients who brought it to our attention) and are not receiving any calls or text messages. I am trying to get this resolved quickly. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Some of you have had the pleasure of meeting my partner, Josh, at the shop. He is also quite the canine enthusiast! This year he is trying to take that enthusiasm one step further. He is thrilled to be participating in the Caroline County Humane Society Sumber Pawty Event where he is helping to raise money for the dogs and cats temporarily residing at the shelter.

Next Saturday he'll be joining a wonderful group of humans and bunking up with a shelter pup and getting a glimpse inside their world overnight.

Please consider sharing this post and possibly throwing a couple dollars his way to help provide funds that will go towards food, vet care, enrichment, etc. 🐕🩵

All dogs go to heaven, but here on Earth, its up to us to give them the life they deserve!

With the cold weather and dogs being more hesitant to go potty outside there has been an uptick in the number of accidents in the main lobby. That being said, a lot of accidents have been left unattended. Please remember that this is a shared space, and a lot of the foot traffic coming and going are to the offices upstairs.

Please be considerate of the other pets and people that must enter through the main doors, and clean up any messes your pet may make. If you are physically unable to clean the accident ---- please be sure to alert me that it is there and I will gladly get it taken care of. I do not know about it if it no one tells me.

Repeated messes left uncleaned can jeopardize my lease.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Sharing in hopes to send this family a little support. The Deel's have been clients of mine for a long time and have consistently been some of the most kind, considerate, and down to earth people. Even if you can't help monetarily, I'm asking you to please share to send some love their way. Thank you! 🩵
