Ranger has a wishlist 😊 Ranger is a character, and honestly, all of Raining Cats and Dogs Shelter and Sanctuary, Inc. permanent residents are all characters🤣 There is no better shelter then RCAD in our personal opinion ❤️
🐾 Ranger has a special request 🐾
Ranger is what we call a true sanctuary dog at RCAD. We pulled him from the shelter years ago when he was on his way to be euthanized, and since that day RCAD has been his home.
Ranger is a happy boy but life with Ranger happens on Ranger’s terms. ❤️ We can’t force him to do things he doesn’t want to do. Nail trims and vet visits have to be done under sedation and we’ve learned to choose our battles. This is how he got his nickname Ranger Danger. 😂 We don’t know what Ranger’s life looked like before he came to us. What we do know is that we accept him exactly as he is. He doesn’t have to change. He doesn’t have to become “adoptable.” He has a forever home with us.
A few weeks ago, Ranger became very sick. There was a point when saying goodbye might have been the appropriate choice but Ranger told us he wasn’t ready. He wanted to fight, so we are fighting right alongside him. Right now, Ranger gets medication twice a day for his liver and to keep his pain controlled. And in true Ranger fashion, he has also become VERY particular about his menu. 😂
His current demands include:
🐾 Nature’s Recipe wet dog food 🍲 apparently the ONLY acceptable entrée
🐾 Puperoni sprinkled on top 🧁 because plain food is beneath him
🐾 Extra Puperonis which he has graciously agreed to share with his friends
🐾 Pedigree wet food for his shelter dog buddies
We are taking things one day at a time with our boy. As long as Ranger is happy, enjoying his days, and we can keep his pain managed, we’ll keep fighting for him.
