Everyone say Hello 👋 to Mochi 🦎

I think the fear that revolves around owning a reptile is just the misunderstanding of care and the importance of boundaries! Reptiles are NOT dogs and cats - but don’t get it twisted, they love their human! I’ve owned, snakes and lizards and I believe they have a unique way of expression that many people find scary.

One rule I always made sure I and everyone around me understood is “ALL ANIMALS WITH TEETH AND CLAW CAN BITE AND SCRATCH”. But that does not make the animal mean, it means a couple of things:
- lack of handling
- lack of bonding (YES REPTILES BOND TO THEIR OWNER)
- illness
- husbandry issues
- fear

With all these factors in account - animals can and will still defend themselves from danger. But I can promise you reptiles are fascinating animals and when you gain the trust of one - it is the most rewarding!

If you need your reptile boarded, why not have them cared for by someone with experience and knowledge?

I wanted to discuss the topic of owning a pet!
Owning an animal isn’t like OWNING property, you are raising, feeding, cleaning, loving a living animal who relying on YOU to survive!

There are instances where you are in a place where you adopted or found or bought an animal that in reality you did not do your research about and were not ready to have! Please do your research and be prepared to care for an animal for the life expectancy of an animal!

❌You should not be buying or adopting animals for your kids or as presents if you are going to get bored or are not gonna be financially ready for the responsibility for that animal!❌

Just because the dog bits, the rabbit stinks, the birds p**p everywhere, the cat scratches DOES NOT MEAN you are to give it away! You are now responsible for a life you brought into your life and need to train or work with the animal!

Think, learn and RESEARCH before purchasing an animal… 🐾🩷

Let me put you on to my secret 🤫
My pupper Loki has TONS of stomach, intestinal, and digestive issues since we got him as a puppy! I do everything in my power to provide him a great quality of life but thats all starts with his DIET! And BOY does he love his cookies 🐶❤️

I have tried MANY of the store bought treats from the least expensive to the most expensive and 99.9% of the time he ends up with an upset tummy and diarrhea. Then I started brainstorming ideas and I will make it easy for you in my simple BBF plan!

BOIL 🐶 BLEND 🐶 FREEZE

I go to my local food market and buy; squash, pumpkin, carrots, Greek yogurt, strawberries, and blueberries.

I make it different everytime - whether I want to layer then freeze and layer something else or I’ll blend two veggies together, like carrots and butternut squash. Once I have my blend (make sure to strain your veggies before blending), I put them in an ice try and freeze over night!

I promise your fur babies will love them, it is also something that can work on licking and chewing - like enriching them and making them work for it - it’s ✨STIMULATING✨.

FUN FACT: sweet potato is very good for the gut 😉

WHY I BELIEVE HOMECOOKED DOG FOOD IS BETTER NUTRITION-WISE AND COST EFFECTIVE?

Let’s do some math!

With about 7lbs of meat mixed with rice, lentils, veggies, and quinoa - I made about 6 weeks worth of food. You may be asking “HOW!?”.

Well for my 35lb active Boston Terrier we feed him about 1/2 cup of fresh dog food 2 times a day and per his vet he also gets 1 cup of his sensitive skin and coat dry food! As much as I want to get him off the dry fully, he needs the additional nutrients that help him digest food normally and help his coat stay BEAUTIFUL!

But your typical 13 oz can of store bought dogs food is about - $3-$4. If my dog were to eat a full can a day (1/2 in the morning and 1/2 at night) I will be spending $20-$30 a week - ❌$120 a month!!❌

Now let me put you on to my secret! 📋

➕85%/15% ground beef will be a bit more expensive but your looking at $15-$20 per 2 lb!
➕80%/20% ground beef will be about $12-$16 per 2lbs!

I buy about 5-7lb of beef and sometimes ground beef is on reduced price at your local ShopRite! Today is spent $25 on 7lb of ground beef!

Every else can be found in your pantry!
➕lentils: $1-$2 at shoprite
➕carrots
➕UNSALTED peas
➕rice
❌quinoa is a more expensive grain option but I rather use it.
➕sweat potato
➕butternut squash
