New Hampshire Pet Aid

New Hampshire Pet Aid We rely entirely on the generosity of our supporters to help those in our community get the treatment their pet needs.

Currently we are accepting applications for assistance from residents of Strafford and Rockingham counties only. We hope to expand to other areas of NH as funding allows. If you are looking to apply for a grant for your cat's or dog's veterinary emergency, visit www.nhpetaid.org and go to the HOW TO APPLY tab for guidelines. Please refer your veterinarian's office to the FOR VETERINARIANS tab for details on how to participate in NH Pet Aid's grant assistance program.

Meet Mr. Ripp!

What a handsome boy! Mr. Ripp needed emergency surgery when an object got stuck in his intestines. These situations quickly become emergent, and time is of the essence to save the intestines. New Hampshire Pet Aid was able to step in and ensure Mr. Ripp was able to not only have his life-saving surgery, but that it happened as soon as possible.

The thank you letter we received from his owners made all of our day's!

"I want to share my heartfelt appreciation for the incredible support you provided during what was undoubtedly a very challenging times in my life.

Your unwavering support has shown me the beautiful power of community and the strength we find in helping one another. It’s in moments like these that I am reminded of the goodness in people, and for that, I am truly grateful.

Thank you for being such a light in a dark day."

Meet Justice!

Justice needed surgery to treat a pyometra - a life threatening infection of the uterus. Surgery was successful and Justice is back home with her incredibly loving family.

As an all volunteer-run organization, hearing back from owners of the pets we help always makes our days. Justice's owner sent us the most touching story that we just had to share!

Justice's owner moved to New Hampshire to help care for a very sick family member and be with her at the end of her life. One day when they were in the garage, a small fluffy kitten literally fell into their arms. From that moment on, Justice has been a continual source of love and happiness for the whole family.

"She is our heart and we can not thank you enough for the gift of keeping her in our lives with your generous donation. I cannot imagine my life without her. Justice means the world to this family, she is our heart. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

Meet Buddy!

Buddy was taken to his veterinarian for a growth on his leg. He was diagnosed with cancer and scheduled for surgery to remove it. The mass ended up being a mast cell tumor, unfortunately a common type of cancer in dogs. Because Buddy was able to quickly get the surgery he needed, his doctor was able to fully remove the tumor and he is now cancer free!

Meet Budd!

Budd was rushed to the veterinarian when he was unable to urinate. He was diagnosed with bladder stones that were blocking his urethra. He needed emergency surgery to remove the stones, which ended up being very complicated. Budd almost didn't make it through but ultimately surgery was a success! Because of funding from New Hampshire Pet Aid, Budd was able to get the treatment he needed and is back home, pain-free!

Meet Ruby!

This adorable girl was adopted with her mom, Grace, and the two were living their best lives together! Ruby was having too much fun playing with a string one day and ended up swallowing it. Her owner quickly rushed her to the emergency veterinarian for care.

When an animal swallows a string, it can get stuck under their tongue or inside of their stomach. This can rapidly damage the intestines and lead to death if not treated. In most cases, surgery to remove the string is the only treatment option to save the animal's life.

New Hampshire Pet Aid helped fund Ruby's surgery and the surgeon was able to remove the string. She is now back home, happily hanging out on her cat tree, with her mom keeping a close eye on her!
