2023 Session 2 of Cold Nose College is well underway with 8 pups enrolled.....quite a handful! They pups hit the creek, the beach and the pool yesterday and then learned that baths and blowdryers are a package deal with having a lot of fun!

It has been a while since we have been on Facebook. We had a few technical challenges in 2023! But we are stil here and starting some fun summer classes in the next few weeks. If you want to have some fun with your dog this summer, why not try a new dog sport like Agility or Nose Work? Or find a way to benefit others with your dog by trying out Our Therapy Dog class! Maybe your dog needs a little work on his recall for your summer vacation. Join our Recallers class. Or just come out and introduce your dog to a pool! He might learn to love dock diving! Our first week of training for Cold Nose College Session 5 has gotten off to a great start! We have 5 new students from Loveline's most recent litter, the Baker's Dozen.....Buc-ee, Brady, Loli, Betty and Nilla. The pups and I are having a blast as they explore the farm and build lots of confidence and agility on all the obstacles and challenges along the way. And they are also learning some new behaviors to show off to their new families when they go home for the weekend! Got a new puppy? Consider enrolling him in our next session of Cold Nose College, our puppy board and train program!

Congratulations to Doctor Murphy on his graduation from Cold Nose College this past week. Not only did Murphy complete thecrequirements for Cold Nose College, he and his handler, Dr. Ken Harper, passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test. Once Murphy reaches the age of 1 year, he and Dr. Harper will attempt to become certified as a Therapy Dog team and Doctor Murphy will begin working in Dr. Harper's clinic as a Therapy Dog for the patients and staff there! Way to go, Doctor Murphy!

Cold Nose College has kept us busy thus far in 2022. We have begun our 3rd session already and plan to begin session 4 in July! These puppies definitely keep us hopping. Our graduates from Session 1 were Bo Johnson and Honey Parr, a Golden and a Golden Doodle. And even before Bo and Honey graduated, we began Session 2 of Cold Nose College with our most recent graduates, Justice(now known as Max), Liberty (now known as Tucker), Loveline's Dodi (AKA Georgia) Loveline's Simba (AKA Bama) and a female red Labrador named "Rocky"! Now we have begun Session 3 and I think we have the 2 cutest Cold Nose College students ever.....Loveline's Banner and another Australian Labradoodle named Doc Murphy! Graduation from Cold Nose College involves each puppy actually demonstrating all of the skills and behaviors that they have learned during the 6 week training period. Then the owners are required to take the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Certification test to ensure that the puppies will respond to their owners. Cold Nose College is our Board and Training program for puppies ages 8 weeks to 6 months. If you have recently gotten a new puppy or will be in the near future, consider letting us do the training for you! Puppies stay with us Monday through Friday and go home on Friday afternoon to spend the weekends with their families. Cold Nose College ensures that your puppy gets the consistent training, exposure and socialization needed during those first 6 critical months for your puppy that is sometimes hard to make happen when life keeps you too busy!

We do all the house training, socialization, and behavior training for you and you get to enjoy your time playing with your puppy! 2022 Session 3 of Cold Nose College will be starting up on May 9. Cold Nose College is our Board and Train program for puppies ages 8 weeks to 5 months. The pups stay with us Monday through Friday for training, socialization and other "camp" experiences and then go home on Fridays to spend the weekends with their families! At the end of the 6 week program, the pups go through graduation with their family member handler and earn their S.T.A.R. Puppy Certification! All breeds of puppies are welcome!

Your Dog Knows will be starting some new classes this summer. We have some interested in the Introduction to Scent Work , Starting the Hunt. This is a great way to burn energy and build confidence for your dog. We also will be offering another Scent Foundations Class, which introduces your dog to the competition of Canine Nose Work. In addition to our Scent Work classes We will also be starting up our Agility Fun Class and our ongoing Puppy Foundations Class for puppies 8 weeks to 5 months and an older Puppy Foundations Class for puppies 6 months and older. And we always have lots of people asking for another Therapy Dog Class. Please contact us if you are interested in any of these classes.

Our Introduction to Nose Work Class ended the spring session of classes by taking a road trip to North Carolina to participate in a National Canine Scent Work NW 1 Trail in Moncure, NC! Hosanna and Boone did very well in the trial with Boone earning his NW 1 title! Congratulations to Boone and Tricia on a job well done! Hosanna missed her title because she shut down in the exterior search and could not search. But this is why Hosanna is doing Nose Work. She has some "sensitivity" issues that we are working through, so even though she didn't get a ribbon, she got some great exposure to "scary" things and actually did a great job in the other 3 elements of the trail. She will get it next time! Nose Work is a great activity for dogs to burn lots of energy, but also to build their confidence!
Hannah also earned her Elite Division 1 title the day before in Ashboro, NC. The Elite trials are significantly more difficult than the NW1 level trials and Hannah rocked it! We had tons of fun with our dogs and on or road trip. If you are looking for something fun to do with your dog this summer, come join us in our Scent Work classes!
