“Flinn” is the definition of the modern versatile horse! Equally handy both in and out of the arena.
Flinn has only had one owner and has been in only one training program for his entire life, where he has had consistent riding, vaccination, worming, dental and farrier care.
In very limited showing he has placed in Stock Horse of Texas events, has been shown in AQHA ranch trail and ranch riding and is an AQHA points earner in reining. Out of the arena he has moved cattle, drug calves to the branding fire, doctored yearlings and been used for trail riding. He has also been used to start and flag c**ts.
Flinn stands at just over 15hh and is a laid back but easy-moving horse that has all the snap and athleticism you desire when you ask for it. A confident rider with an understanding of horsemanship and finesse will get along great with Flinn. Riding outside he is not spooky on the trails but is very aware of his surroundings, sure-footed, is used to rough country, crosses water, and covers country well at all gates.
Inside the arena Flinn performs every trail obstacle the course designers can imagine, has smooth transitions in the ranch riding and doesn’t get hot or on the muscle in the show ring. Flinn will make someone a great horse for the box only or box drive box classes, can go down the fence, and has enough cow to show in the ranch cutting if entered in a Versatility Ranch Horse Show.
Although he has been roped on a lot, we have not started box training him yet, He has been both headed and heeled on while doctoring and he has the size to be a heading prospect and the combination of speed with a big enough stop that he could easily be a heel, calf, or breakaway horse given the right training.
He has been our “Jack of all trades” horse, the one we saddle when we need to do a job, and the one we saddle when the kids want to go for a ride.
Flinn is sired by the great multi-time World Champion In Like Flinn LTE $188,526 and out of Gin Please whose sire Chic Please won $209,184 ($108,085 NRHA;$79,005 NRCHA) and is a million-dollar sire.
