We are almost one year late making this post! Last September we received an email from the family of Maximus telling us of his passing. We apologize for taking so long to share this, but wanted everyone to be able to read the beautiful tribute his mom made:
Maximus Cesar Alonzo
Today we morn the lost of Maximus Cesar Alonzo. He was born August 2011, in Holland MI to surrogate parents Pistol and Zeda. On Thursday, May 9th, 2024 he started his new life over the rainbow and amongst the heavens. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, several of his brothers and sisters, which included Rusty. In the end, he was surrounded by his loving family who will truly miss him.
Maximus was born deaf, but that didn’t stop him from being the World's Best Guard Dog. He wasn’t scared of anything, not even thunder or fireworks. Maximus was everybody’s favorite nephew, grandchild Tio, brother, but most of all son. He taught our family that deaf dogs are not useless, rejects or trash. He was always smart and picked up everything quickly. Our family had to learn how to sign to communicate with him. We had a hard time learning the arm wave so that he would come but everything else came easy. Maximus loved all the dog activities. His mom even took him to visit Santa and the Easter Bunny on occasion. He even dressed up for May 4th Be With You but most of all he loved laying on the couch or on his brothers' bed. He loved to watch Gladiator, Pits and Parolees, and the Wi******er.
On his last day, he confessed to killing 2 werewolves, a vampire, a couple of coyotes, an escaped lion, and a bear which he all buried backyard. This is just a testament to his bravery and courage.
Maximus is survived by his mom Olivia, his three brothers Omar, Keen, and Tavo, his adopted sister Athena, his grandparents, Tio’s, Tias, nieces and his annoying Tio Koba. Our family hopes he can finally hear all the "Good Boy and I Love you's" that we told him throughout the years now that he is up in heaven. We love you Maximus and wait until the day that we can be reunited again. Mom Favorite Son!!!
