We now offer volunteer orientation on the first Tuesday of every month!

Join us at 10:00am or 5:30pm, whichever time works for you! You don't have call, just show up!
Volunteer ages are 13 to 17 (with a parent present for orientation) and 18 and up!

Every volunteer must go through orientation and hands on training FIRST before getting to the good stuff. And trust us, we have a job for everyone.

Every first Tuesday of the month, here are the first few dates:
November 4th
December 2nd
January 6th
February 3rd

🐾 Before the Move, Let’s Get Them Home! 🐾

The Dothan Animal Shelter will soon be transitioning into Wiregrass Pets. Before that big move, we’re hosting a special Clear the Shelter Adoption Event to help as many pets as possible find forever homes.

📅 Saturday, September 13, 2025
⏰ 9 AM – 12 PM
📍 Wiregrass Pets, 2638 Hartford Hwy, Dothan, AL 36305

👉 Important to know:

All pets at this event are from the current Dothan Animal Shelter (not Wiregrass Pets animals just yet).
After the transition, Wiregrass Pets will provide support to adopters with questions or needs.
Same-day adoptions available (fees and requirements apply).
$85 for dogs $55 for cats

Come meet your new best friend and make moving day an adoption day! 💛
