The City of Dothan Animal Services have made a huge accomplishment! We have received a plaque from Best Friends for achieving a no kill status. This is made possible when a shelter reaches a 90%, or higher animal save rate.
This shelter has an incredible, dedicated team that has committed their time, and hard work to make this possible.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Save-A-Pet, who works tirelessly behind the scenes, and the other organizations who helped make this all possible.
I always say it takes a team to reach your goals and what a wonderful way to say, "We Did It!"

Good morning!

Kitten season is in full swing already. 😳😳

We are getting so many requests for help, but we have extremely limited spaces available. Kittens in our rescue are placed in foster homes, and those fill up fast, and they are not open again for a month or more.

This is all to say, if you message us, you will likely get a reply that we are full. We will of course make some recommendations, but other rescues are in the same position.

We are always looking for kitten fosters, so if you are interested, please, do reach out to us. We will be happy to explain our program to you.
We are also looking for volunteers to clean the cat cages at PetSmart, one day a week.

We are so excited to host 🐾Paws On The Patio🐾 to help support Wiregrass Pets Rescue and Adoption! Bring your pup out and have dinner on our patio. We will be giving out homemade dog biscuits to your furry friends. If you bring a supply listed below, we will give you a card for a FREE fried green tomato or fried mushroom starter.

Purina dog chow, Purina puppy chow, Purina cat chow, Purina kitten chow, Wet dog and puppy food, Wet cat and kitten food, Cat litter, Slip leads and leashes, Dog harnesses (all sizes), Martingale collars (all sizes).

This group of individuals who work for the City of Dothan Animal Services are to be applauded and celebrated for their professionalism, hard work and their dedication every day.
