Pugs may be small in size, but they’ve got a royal history! 👑 These wrinkly-faced cuties were bred to be the treasured lapdogs of Chinese emperors—and they were so valued, they were sometimes guarded by soldiers and even had their own mini palaces! Today’s pugs still love being pampered and doted on (and honestly, who could say no to those eyes?). 🥰

🚨 LOST DOG – Please Share! 🚨

This sweet boy wandered onto Picnic Road about 1/2 mile from Greenbrier Grooming, and we knew we had to help!

🦴 Male Great Dane
❌ Not neutered
⚖️ Around 100 lbs
📏 About 3 feet tall at the shoulder
🐾 Very friendly and well-mannered

We’ve safely secured him and are now taking him to Sunbury Animal Hospital to be scanned for a microchip and checked out. If you recognize this handsome guy or know who might be missing him, please reach out to the Sunbury Animal Hospital directly!

🍦🐾 Wellness Wednesday: Cool Treats for Hot Days
The sun is shining and tails are wagging—but just like us, our furry friends need a little help staying cool in the summer heat! ☀️🐶 One of our favorite ways? Refreshing frozen treats! ❄️🍧

Here are a few dog-safe favorites your pup will love:
🍌 Frozen banana slices (perfectly bite-sized and naturally sweet!)
🫐 Ice cube trays filled with water, blueberries, or even low-sodium broth
🍦 Dog-safe ice cream (look for specially made pup cups or make your own!)

Frozen goodies are a great way to help your dog beat the heat and feel spoiled. 😋

🐾 A Day in the Life of a Boarding Pup 🐾

Ever wonder what your pup’s day looks like while boarding with us? Here’s a behind-the-scenes peek at their tail-wagging routine! 🐶✨

🌅 6:30 AM – The day kicks off with morning potty breaks! Pups rotate through their individual yards while our team preps breakfast, organizes medications, freshens water bowls, and tidies up any overnight messes in the kennels. Everyone gets their turn outside before heading back in to eat and relax.

🌞 10:00 AM – Time for another potty break! Daycare pups head off for group play, while boarding dogs enjoy solo yard time. Our staff tops off water bowls, leaves treats for pups who brought them, and spends quality one-on-one time playing and snapping photos to send home. 📸💕

🧸 In Between – Throughout the day, add-ons like one-on-one playtime, cuddle sessions, or even popcorn and a movie bring extra joy and excitement to your pup’s stay. These special moments help make their day even more personalized and fun!

🥗 2:00 PM – Afternoon potty time! Lunch is served to those who get it, and treat add-ons like Kongs, lick mats, and snuffle mats make their appearance. Half-day daycare pups return inside to rest and recharge.

🍽️ 6:00 PM – Dinner time! Everyone heads out for another potty break while dinner is prepared, evening medications are given, and waters are refreshed for the night.

🌙 10:00 PM – Final potty break before bed. We top off waters one last time, close up the kennels, and turn out the lights for a cozy night of rest. 💤🐕

Every pup is treated like one of our own—with love, structure, and plenty of tail wags. 💛

👣 Try the 5-second rule: Press the back of your hand to the pavement—if it’s too hot to hold for 5 seconds, it’s too hot for your dog.

Protect those paws with:
🩴 Dog booties
🌳 Walking in grass or shade
🕐 Morning or evening walks only

Today’s heatwave meant we made the most of the cooler morning hours outside before heading indoors to beat the heat! While we were out, the pups had a blast staying cool with some water fun—between the pool splashes and sprinkler zoomies, there was no shortage of tail-wagging excitement. 😎💧

Everyone’s home and cooled off now—time to dream about tomorrow’s adventures!

🔥🐶 Heatwave Alert: Keep Your Dogs Safe! 🐾☀️
With temps soaring into the 90s today, tomorrow, and Wednesday, it's crucial to protect your pups from the heat!

Here are a few tips to keep them cool and safe:
🌡️ Limit outdoor time to early morning or late evening
💧 Always provide plenty of fresh, cool water
🏠 Keep walks short and avoid hot pavement (if you can’t hold your hand on it for 5 seconds, it’s too hot!)
🧊 Offer frozen treats or a lick mat to help them cool down
🚗 Never leave dogs in a car—even for a minute

Stay cool out there and give your pups some extra love this week! ❤️🐾
