We’re excited to introduce the Living Library on Neonatal Kitten Care 🐾 A new, collaborative resource developed by leading shelter medicine programs to provide clear, evidence-based guidance for anyone caring for neonatal kittens.

This resource brings together the latest information and best practices in one easy-to-access place, supporting shelters, rescues, foster networks, veterinary teams, and community caregivers. The best part? We are so excited to welcome National Kitten College back to KC Pet Project on March 12th for another incredible learning opportunity as kitten season begins to ramp up! The focus will be on bottle feeding neonatal kittens and giving our team the tools they need to care for some of the tiniest and most vulnerable lives that come through our doors.

Our staff, volunteers, and foster caregivers will be joining the training, and we are also opening this opportunity up to members of the public who want to learn more about how to help us save young kittens! 🐱

This year, National Kitten College grew to over 50 satellite campuses and network partners and emerged as a national leader in neonatal kitten care, working alongside all of the major shelter medicine programs. None of this would have been possible without an incredible community of supporters who believe that the tiniest lives are worth fighting for.

As we look ahead, 2026 is shaping up to be an even bigger year—with expanded training, deeper partnerships, and more lives saved than ever before.
