This handsome boy is KILO and he’s located at MDAS. He’s already been here 45 days and now just needs a furever home to call his own. Kilo was super sweet and playful during our time together. He looooved getting scratchies and was a sucker for crinkly toys. His temperament around other dogs is unknown but I did see him walk past other dogs on the leash and he’s not leash reactive. Fair warning! He is a strong boy and needs someone who will be able to handle him/correct him. If you’ve been looking for a new best friend come meet this sweet boy!

Meet Mase! This little noodle arrived 3 weeks after Kahlu passed. I didn’t know what to do with myself or the emptiness in my heart so I figured I’d go to the shelter and bring home the dog that looked like it needed the most help and foster it. That’s when I met Mase! This little guy was extremely under weight and had been shaved completely bare do to the severe matting in his hair. I just remember noticing how HAPPY he was even with everything he’d obviously been through so it was an easy choice. He came home with me and after a few months and much deliberation I realized that I had my first foster fail lol.

We just hit our 3rd gotcha date together. This little guy is such a good boy, I feel really lucky to have him in my life. He loves to play, will do all the tricks you want for some treats, and he’s the best companion 🤍

Meet Hart, this sweet girl is one of the easiest pups ever and would be the perfect addition to a family. Hart is currently in foster care.

Hart ( aka Cookie) is wondering where the love of her life is? Looking for the perfect pup- look no more! She's so easy going she gets along with all four of her foster dog siblings, kids, cats and the UPS man.

She's potty trained, dog door trained, walks well on a leash and doesn't need to be crated.

She loves rides in the car, walks, playtime in the yard and home cooked meals ( chicken, salmon and sweet potatoes are her favorites).

Her favorite music is Marc Anthony and Bob Marley. She actually salsa dances when you scratch her back- moves you must see to appreciate!

She is looking for someone who understands what long term love looks like and is committed to taking care of her.
She is learning to appreciate the finer things in life like massages and her own custom collar collection.

Hey y’all! Welcome in our newest foster Mr. Arlo! This handsome boy was recently abandoned by his human and I was contacted by one of my coworkers to help with his rescue! Unfortunately his previous human broke promise on coming back for him so once he’s healed we will be looking for his furever home.

In order to get him off his hands the pos agreed to pay the sitter for taking him to get his neuter (he was an intact full breed husky) but instead wiped his hands clean and left him stuck with his vet bill and no call back. Not having anticipated that cost or long term responsibility he asked if I could help and who am I to turn down this precious floof!

Some people suck but what’s new, we’re so excited to have a new foster join our pack! I’m sure this boy will have no problem finding a loving home that does deserve him! He was described as oddly calm for a 2yr old husky and he’s great with other dogs! Also unfortunately very underweight but we’ll work on plumping him up. Under that beautiful fur he only weighs 36lbs so he’s roughly 20lbs underweight. We’re heading home now but it would mean the worlds to me if we could help him together. Just like any pup he deserves a home that will commit to loving him and taking care of him. I’d also like to pay back my coworker for all he’s done for him so far, it’s not fair he got stuck paying for his neuter when he was tricked into thinking they’d come back and also reimburse him for it 😓

Anyways, I’ll keep you guys posted with his progress- if you’re able to donate please let me know. I’m willing to start off with a $20 donation so that means $270 to go! @ Denver, Colorado

I think Kahlu is my karma for all the babies I’ve helped along the way because it’s the only way I can explain getting so lucky with her. She’s perfect ❤️

Raleigh, NC- Good boy Barney is looking for his forever! Are you ready to fall in love? 😍

Hi there! I'm Barney. Funny story about how I got my name.....when I came to the shelter my name was Deputy. Since I was really scared of walking on a leash, my Foster mom laughed and said Deputy?? More like Deputy Barney Fife! As soon as she said Barney, I looked at her so she decided then and there I would be Barney!
Now, a bit about me. I currently live with 5 other dogs and love spending time with them! I was a bit grumpy when I first met them, but given a little time, I came to realize that they were pretty cool! According to my foster mom it was a VERY pleasant surprise to discover I am housebroken and after a bit I even learned to use the dog door! I have become a bit of a cuddler, but I'm not annoying about it. I am happy to curl up at your feet too!
I am still learning the big scary world is not a bad place, so I'll need someone willing to be patient and understanding with me and help me with that. Did you know that some people actually have FIRE in their homes?? On purpose?? In a special location called a fireplace? I made them put the fire out while I waited safely outside. Do they not understand fire is scary and bad?? Sheesh!
I'm making progress walking on a leash, and I glance at the person holding the leash a lot so I can make sure I'm not going too fast or slow. And if that person runs, I do too! Because I am hesitant about a lot of things, I think a home with another dog might be a good thing. I learn a lot from other dogs. I like fenced yards to run around in too.....just sayin'. Not a requirement, just saying it would be nice.

Tonight someone asked me where was home but after much thought I couldn’t think of a place.. the more I thought about it the more I thought about Kahlu, but I couldn’t pin point a place. I grew up in Miami and lived the majority of my life there but that no longer feels like home, and while NC has been nice it’s certainly not home. At the end of the month we’ll be relocating again, and I’m really really excited. I’m excited for the new places I’ll see, the new people I’ll meet, all the new food I’ll eat, and all the pups I’ve yet to meet. I’m more so happy and so appreciative to have a pup in my life that can make anywhere in the world feel like home. I still don’t know how I got so lucky, 3 years later and I still feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have you in my life. Love you my little bean cake ❤️
