B & B Chinchillas Raising quality chinchillas since 1996 in southwest Wisconsin. I am a member of both MCBA and ECBC - national chinchilla organizations.

I sit on the National Board for MCBA as the Treasurer, Membership Director and am co-chair for the judge trainee program. I am also a sanctioned judge for both groups. I raise chinchillas for the show table. Those that do not meet my standards as a show prospects or future breeding stock are sold as pets. Chinchillas can live up to 20 years, although 5-10 years is more common. Either way, it is a

long term commitment. I do not buy back animals, nor do I re-home those you no longer want, so please take this into consideration before purchasing from me.

I feel there is a need for some education today, as I've gotten the same question a few times now.

Newborn babies are never for sale. Ever.
They need to be with their momma for at least eight weeks. They need to make it to 8 weeks, most of which do, but some don't.

I post baby pictures because I am proud of the babies I produce and I like to share them. Not everything is for sale.

At weaning, I evaluate them to see if they have the potential to be a show chin or possibly stay in my herd. If they do not have the qualities I am looking for, I will then post them as available to go to a new home.

Those posts will never have a price in them due to Facebook rules, and I welcome private messages to discuss that. I'd like to keep my page from being shut down.
