Just got back from teaching a 4-day whitetail workshop at Central Texas School of Taxidermy in Snyder, Texas. I had a great group for this class. We spent the week studying real deer reference, focusing on anatomy, expression, and the fun small details. I learned alot this week myself.

God has truly blessed me with this platform that allows me to meet great people and for that I’m incredibly thankful. I also want to thank my good friend Jason Bynum for hosting me once again and helping make this class possible. Great week with great people.

I wanted to make a quick post as I have a lot of messages to get back to from the weekend. With the time my other two businesses are demanding, I won’t be taking in any taxidermy work this year. I’m currently booked with at least a year’s worth of commitments ahead of me.

I truly appreciate everyone who thinks of me to mount their trophies, but I just can’t take anything on this season. We’ll see how things shape up for next year.

We just wrapped up 4 days of advanced taxidermy learning. This group was a pleasure to work with. Special thanks to Brian Olson, Jena and Abel Everidge for helping me teach this great group of people. Also Matuska taxidermy supply, PRO-1, and the Dodger Bowl for the amazing facility and food. We are hoping to do it again in the near future.

Workshop announcement!

I will be hosting a 4 day advanced hands on whitetail workshop January 13-16 in Dodgeville Wisconsin.
This will be a one of a kind class with some of the best teachers in the world. Along with myself I will be joined with Brian Olson, Jena Everage, and Abel Everage. 11 world show medallions, numerous state and national titles have been won between these talented instructors.
I will have 10 hands on spots available for this class. There will also be a limited amount of spots available for just viewing and note taking. Included in the class is lunch Monday-Thursday, form, eyes, ears and general mounting supply’s. Cost of this class is $3200 for hands on, $1800 for viewing. A 50% deposit will be required to reserve your spot, this class should fill up quick.

As many of you know the last few years I have been limiting my intake and transitioning out of commercial taxidermy into other business opportunities. It’s been a long process doing so but I’m excited to be able to capitalize on those opportunities starting this fall. Though I’ll still be doing plenty of taxidermy work I will not be taking in any customer work this fall. Im excited to be finishing up last year’s mounts in the coming months.
Also I have many messages to return about upcoming workshops. Currently I am still working on getting dates and details together, but I can say that we have a couple of pretty amazing class opportunities that I’m working on and I will let you all know about them soon.

My last taxidermy workshop of 2024 was this past week. Reflecting back at my students achievements in taxidermy competitions just this year is absolutely amazing. I truly enjoy watching my peers reach their goals. I am ready to start scheduling workshops for this coming year and will be doing a handfull of group classes. These will be advanced deer and game-head classes and will have a limit of 5 students per class. Each class will be taught by myself and one other master instructor. Classes will start in January with specific dates to be determined shortly. Feel free to call or message for more details or to reserve your spot.

We spent a lot of time today getting our glass eyes ready to pack up!

For almost 3 years Tim and I have been working on developing multiple styles of eyes. Our glass white-banded Whitetail eye just happens to be the first one that we have brought to the finish line. We started from casting a real eye, making a lense, and MANY steps later we finally have a final product. Tim and I will continue to work tirelessly on our other innovative eyes that we plan debut in the coming months. Pre-sales on these glass eyes will start Monday and I will be live to tell you all about them!
