Empress chinchilla Nationals were held over the weekend. To say im proud is an understatement! I normally only take 3, maybe 4 chins to any show let alone the Nationals but this year I stepped up and took more. While Im aware some were not up to standard I took them along to get evaluated so some 3rds ( i will take them). But the rest has me proud as can be! (Who am I kidding im proud of my 3rd places as well, but I think you know what I mean). I want to thank Empress for the opportunity to show (great fun show was held) but I also want to thank Russ And Lyndsay for the help with grooming! I forgot to do 2 chins tails (opps) not to worry, a learning experience when taking this many when Im not use to it! (Did I mention i have a swelled head 🤣)

So today was the MCBA nationals, what started out with having several chins picked out, turned out a nightmare over the last final 2 weeks. I ended up down to 2 for actual show, BUT took 5 extra chins that was for other folks...fast forward to last night....decided (with some support from others) to actually show the other 5) that were dusted on the Wednesday and not groomed until this morning) end result and I am stocked!!!

Its times like this that makes me so happy...litter of 4 born on the 15th January 2026, I knew one kit was not in good shape but then I seen this tiny little guy and my heart sank, 28g at birth. Momma is a fantastic mom and always has 2-3 kits without any issues in the past. I keep a good eye on all of them and sure enough sadly I lost the one I thought I would but this little guy just keeps on going. Today's weight is 52g, sure small but he is a fighter and has a will live. Fingers crossed he keeps gaining weight!
