For all, it represents hard work with detailed appointments and schedules to first get their mare in foal.... which is then followed by constant observation, care and more hard work. During these months most are dreaming of that joyous moment when that foal arrives, maybe she'll win the APHA World Champion in Western Pleasure, maybe he will win The Run for a Million or even a Top Hunter Jumper. After all, every foal is bred to be a champion!! The amount of money and hard work invested in just this process is astonishing! But the love, care and dreaming... that's the part that money cannot buy - PRICELESS

Most breeders get the dream to come true, the happy mare and foal, the bright future and all the smiles, more hard work and love.

However, many also experience the opposite side of foaling that has been felt by me as nothing less than - soul crushing! You lose your mare or maybe she colic's, sometimes she just doesn't want anything to do with her foal- believe it or not this happens more than you know. None of us like to talk about these moments but they are real! Every breeder big or small wants and needs to be prepared in these situations. Lonestar Nurse Mares LLC. is located in Alvord TX, as owners we take this job very seriously from hand picking our mares to starting them on protocol to leaving them with you for 6 months to care for your special foal. We answer the phone 24/7 and will drop everything to get that mare to you! Once we arrive at the foal's location, we take pride in grafting our mare to your foal without sedation. The mare that arrives is the same mare when we leave.

We are serving Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas and Missouri but please don't stress if you need one further! We answer the phone 24/7 and have 30 Nurse Mares ready for service.

Braydon Jones had a good ride today! His first ride with the Stud and both did great.. we’ll have a spot for DJS Dallas Cowboy after breeding season for some more fine tuning!
