Sad to share that today we lost a very handsome sweet boy after his neuter & enucleation. He was in recovery and his heart stopped. We love you and will never forget you little Finnick. RIP 🙏🏻

What can I say about fip? A few things really!

1. It is curable. There is now very little reason to let that diagnosis be a fatal one. Thank the cat gods for Dr Pederson and his fip research! And thank you to a certain couple of good friends whom have helped me treat so many, you guys know who you are!!! (Hi Buster!)

2. The bond you form with the cats that go through this treatment, is incredible. I cannot begin to describe the love that I have received from each one of these cats, on a daily basis.

3. Many many wonderful rescues have and are treating these cats. Doing what rescues should, rescuing them and bringing them back to health like they promised to do. And to those rescues, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

4. This is a disease that will never truly go away. But it is most certainly not a death sentence anymore, and should never be. I have personally worked with other rescues to transfer kittens in need of treatment from one to another. We should all be networking and working together for the betterment of the animals and their health.

5. As long as disease and injury are a part of the rescue world, we at Special Paws will not turn our back, nor will we give up ID there is a chance. We will never be a rescue that let's them go instead of treating them. We strive for quality!
