Good afternoon,
Katie here, we have received a couple of phone calls in regards to kennel cough. Unfortunately, it looks like it is making its way around.
We do our absolute best in keeping everything clean and refreshed on a daily basis. Our ERV units are operating all day everyday, which constantly pull fresh air into the building and we are diligent on changing mop buckets and water bowls constantly. Unfortunately with an airborn bacterial virus, it only gets us so far as it can be contracted anywhere.
We do require all dogs to be vaccinated with bordetella before they come into our building. That being said, the kennel cough vaccine is like the flu shot for a human. There is still a chance of catching it, as there are so many different strains of it.
Moving forward if you notice your dog showing any signs or symptoms please keep them home. If they have been to a daycare or boarding facility, please contact that facility right away. If you bring your dog in to daycare/boarding with us and they start to show symptoms, owners will be contacted immediately to come and pickup your pup. Please also reach out to your vet with any questions or concerns.
We appreciate everyone’s understanding. We are hoping this passes quickly.
