When you are very much loved...

Senior portraits are amongst my most favorite portraits to do.

It has been really hard to find the best moment to go outside and take photographs in this heat and humidity.

The trick is to find the cooler spots, make sure no long walks are involved, the car has air conditioning to cool down and you carry plenty of water.
Rhys was excited to go on a short adventure this morning while the sun was hiding and it sprinkled now and then.

Please keep a good eye on your animals while outside, overheating is a serious condition.

🐾 Jarita, looking radiant in the spring sun 🌞

About a year after her adoption through SAGE, I had the absolute joy of photographing her and her siblings during Greyhounds in Gettysburg.

It’s always something special to see adopted dogs again—not just because they’ve grown or changed, but because you can feel how they’ve settled into their new lives. Confidence, calm, curiosity… it shows in their eyes and posture. It’s the story of a rescue told in fur and sunlight.

A few more of the shoot we did with Daisy earlier this week.

Please note that during sessions, dogs are leashed.
In most cases the leash can easily be removed in photoshop when positioned in a certain way.
The safety of your dog is most important to us.

On our way back home from a shoot today, we stopped at in Carlisle, a local farm that has a small shop with some amazing icecream of which I bought a tub for the holidays. (If it is going to make it that far ;) )
Aqua is one of their dogs and if not at work, always up for a belly rub.

When I saw the backlight I had to snap this picture.

A conversation with sweet Blaises Mom raised the next question.
She asked: " How do you do it? " And she went on to say that she was right there and never saw it....

And that is why its worth hiring a professional pet photographer.

The most common remark on my photos is usually related to the dog seemingly being off leash and the dangers that come with that.
As a sighthound owner myself I am very aware of those dangers.
So, safety first, photoshop later 📸
