So as Adam and I are talking about our breeding program and future plans, we want some thoughts and feedback.
As we will be solely focusing on our papillons….
What do you feel is the most important aspect for adding to your family?
Health and OFA testing?
(OFA will include patellas, eyes, and heart.) we have always done this in the past, but adding new breeders, we want to see how important this is. Surprisingly, a lot of breeders we’ve talked to do not do this. Or they just do a health screen. Nothing more.
AKC registration?
Again, we have typically always included limited registration with our litters, until the last 2, but did give pedigrees. Would you rather have the limited registration or just a copy of parents pedigree to verify purebred status?
Puppy Pack…
We will be revamping our puppy pack. It will still include the great items of a harness, leash, blanket, puppy pad, and toy. But we are now looking to add a small kennel, full size bag of food to get you started instead of a sample bag, and dog bowls. We also will continue to include the brush, toothbrush, and p**p bags. Thinking of adding some cleaning wipes or shampoo too.
What are some other important aspects you would want to see with your new puppy?
We will continue our partnership with NuVet labs for vitamins.
We are trying to determine if we want to continue our partnership with Trupanion for insurance or find a new company.
A lot of moving pieces over the next year or so while we are waiting for Phineas to get to breeding age.
