Update from Dr Dana Yard on Elmer:

“Your man is awake. Everything went well and he is in recovery.

Definitely necessary. His bladder was full of visible sand. I flushed out as much as possible. His teeth are okay for now but he’ll need a dental on the future. Some tarter and some hyperextrusion of his canine teeth but no painful FORLs that I see.”

UPDATE on Elmer! Elmer has been transported to Dr Dana Yard at Wissahickon Creek Veterinary Hospital for urinary surgery because she is a skilled surgeon who offered to help at a price much less than VRC. We are now $2,000 under what we need to pay his expenses. We have sadly already been forced to turn away a cat with an intestinal foreign body obstruction because we cannot help others without financial support for Elmer. Elmer’s transporter says he’s a lovebug and cries the whole 35 mins because he wanted me to pet him.

PALS (Pet Adoption and Lifecare Society - located in Devon,Pa.) is thrilled to announce that PALS kittens are included in the NHL's 2026 "The Stanley Pup" to be broadcast on June 8 and June 10. Meet Bonnie!

Meet Maverick!

Maverick was surrendered when he acquired a virus called FIP (a highly treatable condition but expensive). FIP is not the death sentence it used to be because we can completely cure it. He is cured and will have no further effects. We got him his treatment and he is good as new now. He's about 1 year old and is a cute little guy who is curious, affectionate and playful. All Maverick asks for is a soft bed, some toy mice and gentle pets.
