I hope y'all are celebrating! Got leftover buns, mystery meats, or half-eaten hot dogs after the cookout? Don’t trash them—compost them with Scrap Soils!

What sets us apart from backyard composting?

We are able to compost at a larger-scale with high-heat compost piles that reach the temperatures needed to safely break down meats, breads, and other items you can’t compost at home. That means we can handle your BBQ scraps and kill off harmful pathogens in the process.

Some of Scrap Soils favorite highlights of the night was the painting we all collaborated on together, the amazing food, and the fact that this was a completely sustainable event!

🍩 Shoutout to our amazing partners at Dutch Girl Donuts! 🍩

During an exciting assembly at Renaissance High School, we not only got to share insights about composting and the Scrap Soils Summer Cohort program but also celebrated generosity and student engagement. Dutch Girl Donuts graciously donated two dozen donuts for the event, which became the highlight of a fun competition! 🎉

A big congratulations to the lucky students who won these delicious treats, and thank you, Dutch Girl Donuts, for not only sweetening the day but also for composting your kitchen scraps with Scrap Soils. 🌱 Your dedication to sustainability and our community is inspiring! 🙌🏽

Meet Tolu! 🎓✨ A recent graduate of Renaissance High School, Tolu joined us in our Renaissance High Assembly to share his journey in the Scrap Soils Summer Cohort. During his talk, he inspired students by discussing how the program helped him develop entrepreneurial skills, learn about grant funding, and make a positive impact on the environment through composting! Tolu’s address was incredibly well received by his peers and we’re more than ecstatic to continue our cohort this coming summer 🌍👏.
