Did some work at the park earlier an did a down at a distance. I didn’t expect it to be THIS clean! We have some things to work on, but I was very pleased with this.

Hi everyone! I recently started a new dog group to discuss various dog related things such as training, breeding, purchasing and raising a puppy, etc. If you have a dog or have had a dog, or just would lien to know more, I welcome you to join the group. I am also seeking to get information on what people would like to know more about in regard to dogs. If you have a question, whether it be about dogs in general, or something more specific, would you be so kind to drop it in the comments so that I may address it and give others a chance to learn. Thank you 😊

To all my dog (and other pet) people.
It is going to be in the 90s all week. So, try to limit outside physical activities with your pet as it can be dangerous in the heat, especially, if you have breeds like mine that don’t typically know when to rest up. I just had to stop Kanga and Roo from playing after just a few laps because they were showing no signs of slowing down, even though they were clearly in need of a break. If they ever do show signs of overheating, take them to a cool room, and try to place a cool, not cold, towel on them to help their body cool down. You can also place cool water on their paw pads and under belly. If they ever show signs, do not allow them to chug cold water. A few sips of cool/room temperature water at a time and monitor until they start showing signs of improvement. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. Be safe and stay cool ☺️

Many people have said many things about e collars. I will be the first to admit, that I too was once one of those people. But I realized, it wasn’t the e collar I had the issue with. It was how it was being used. The truth is they are just tools, like any other. And when used correctly, have their place in dog training. Just the same as a collar and leash. If someone took a collar and leash and put it on a dog’s leg and caused the dog to harm themselves, we wouldn’t say that collars and leashes and cruel, but instead it is a user error. But when used properly, they do not cause harm or emotional distress to the dog. E collars are no different. So, if you know how to properly operate one without causing a dog distress and can use it as another form of communication, great. If you decide you can train a dog and don’t need an ecollar for the venue you are training in/for, also great. Whether you use an e collar or not isn’t what determines whether you are good dog trainer or not. The usage of one doesn’t make someone less than the person who chooses not to. And vice versa. So, let’s all support each other in safe and humane dog training. Because the bottom should be we are all in this for the welfare of the dog and their emotional well-being is our priority, no matter what we are training!

Went downtown for the first time in a long time to work on some things with Ms. Marie. We need to work on a few things, but I’m not disappointed with where she is now.

Picture this: You’ve been gong to work all week. Showing up early, giving your all, doing everything your boss asks you to. The end of the week comes and you go to see your boss to collect the check that you’ve rightfully earned for all of your hard work and dedication to your job.

When you go to your boss, they tell you that they don’t have a check for you. Not only that, but they expect you to show up next week and work just as hard. By now, you’re probably thinking to yourself “Why would I come back and work next week, when you haven’t even paid me for this week?!”

Well, that’s how your dog feels. Often times we ask our dogs to do things and we never pay them. Then we wonder why our dogs refuse to listen. But just as you and I don’t like the idea of working for someone and not getting paid, neither do our dogs.

Often times we are so quick to correct our dog when they do something we don’t like, but we aren’t as quick to reward them for the things we do like. his is why rewarding is so important. The more you reward your dog for doing things that you ask of it, the more they will be willing to do it the next time you ask for that behavior.

Went to the and decided took Roo to work on some obedience around distractions. There were a ton of dogs and people (off camera) and he payed no attention to them at all.

Kangas pups are already 5 months old 😱And look at how much they’ve changed.! Also proud of my puppy parents for doing so...
