Destin Dog Park

Destin Dog Park The Nancy Weidenhamer Dog Park in Destin is a world-class, 3 acre park. It's a place where tails wag, friendships form, and memories are made.

It features separate areas for large and small dogs, shaded rest areas, and secure double-gated entries. The City Council of Destin has approved the creation of a Dog Park on the 1 ½ acre parcel of land next to the City Hall Annex. The City will pay 50% of the start up costs and dog lovers will pay the other 50% of the start up costs. The total funds must be raised prior to starting construction of the park. The major items required to start the Dog Park are signage, fencing/gates, and fixtures.

Today we honor a local legend, Bruce Cheves. For more than 40 years, Bruce served as the legendary weighmaster of the Destin Fishing Rodeo - Destin, Florida. He was an iconic storyteller who would never let a lady go by without asking “has anyone told you how beautiful you are today?”. He made a lasting impact on The World’s Luckiest Fishing Village, and his legacy will live on through the Bruce Cheves Rodeo Room at the Destin History & Fishing Museum. RIP ❤️
