RIP Demon, we loved you so much.

It's never a good day to euthanize your best friend.

I went out this morning to find BS Malabar Dark Demon with a catastrophic leg facture.

There was no hope of recovery.

Being early in the day, and not wanting to make him wait, I used my dad's undercover .38 to end his suffering.

I wish mine would end so easy.

It was only a matter of time. All the noise Batman makes moving this bucket around his pen, I suspected the goal was to put it in the water trough.

We won't be going to Fire Mountain.

The winds haven't been bad enough for the power to be shut off, but they're relentless. All the horses are so subdued. No one is resting well.

Demon looks OK, but he's tired. Between that, and Nine and Trey still having snotty noses and coughs, it feels the better choice to hunker down, stay home, live to ride another day.

It's not like we've anything to prove.

Batman (Malabar Dark Knight, BS Malabar Dark Demon x Malabar Irresistible) has discovered the joys of putting objects in water. After a week of fishing his feed bucket out of his water, I gave him a Jolly Ball. Now it gets regular dunking!
